Bank notes work great and are the best way to RP the transfer of moneys (mechanically you just hand them the gold). But gold piece weight comes into play at the times Gulnyr is pointing at. You go on a dungeon crawl and come out with 2k to 3k gold or you are bringing actual gold somewhere.
