Brussi is the son of Ulric Ragnarsson and Hrefna Dorangrimsdottir. As a child, his father and his uncle Alric were his heroes. The two of them were unusual enough for dwarves, being twins, but they were also great adventurers and warriors.
He trained very hard as a young dwarven fighter, trying to live up to the example set by Ulric and Alric. He constantly had the ideals of courage and honor drilled into him by them.
Unfortunately, once he got out on his own and began to build his own reputation, he very often felt that he was not good enough for them and that he would always be overshadowed by their reputations. He has recently left home and traveled as far away from home as he could in order to make his way into song on his own without trailing on his father's and uncle's coattails, as it were.
