Aleister Bolas was left with the wizard Nybras when he was six years old. After his home was destroyed in the orc raids, his parents decided it best he get an education, and be schooled in the magical and political arts, rather than bounce from city to city as they would be doing over the years.
Despite his affinity for the black arts, Nybras was a kind man, and taught Aleister all he could with patience and understanding. Aleisters earliest lessons were how to chop wood, set simple game traps, and cooking.
Later Nybras began teaching Aleister the basic arcane principles, explaining the weave and how magic is used. Aleister grasped these concepts quickly and showed much promise with the simple cantrips he was first taught.
As the years passed, Aleister grew more restless staying at home in Nybras' tower. He wished to see more than just the forests surrounding him.
Nybras saw this growing desire and one day decided to grant it. He gave Aleister a book of simple spells and a small bag of gold. When asked where he would go, Aleister replied that he did not know. Theres a world of infinite knowledge and he would discover it and make it his own.
