Alanthalas' origins are not certain, the only thing he remembers is waking up near the burnt wreckage of a caravan. He was found by a wandering ranger named Thaniel Rookwood and was brought to the strange ranger's blind in the forest not far from the wreckage. Alanthalas' belongimgs were stripped of him but he has found he has uncanny skill with both blades and bow. While living with Thaniel he was taught the ways of the wood and tried to piece his memory back together. While they figured his first name and relative age from vague memories, Alanthalas took his last name from a piece of wood from the wreckage with "Lanton'esse" stamped upon it.
After spending a decade with the friendly ranger who was now feeling the affects of his aging body, they felt it was for elf's best that they part ways and that he go out in the world and make a name for himself. Alanthalas will never forget the human ranger's kindness and because of it has a fondness for humans, looking past their greedy ways as is their nature for having shorter lives.
