I disagree; A Paladin is a warrior in the cause of the Church. The cleric
is the church.
While the deity is tantamount to the Cleric, I believe that it's more the cause that's important to Paladin, and upholding good above all else. I've never really enjoyed the idea of a Paladin with a Deity anyways...
