RE: Running Strength isn't tied as much to size as it should be (me thinks). Try wearing a 40 pound body armor vest, a kevlar helmet, carrying 3 frag grenades, one M-4, 16 magazines of rounds, small med kit, three radios, a map, a compass, binos, a canteen of water, two knives, a leatherman, and then being told to carry an AT 4 and a 12 Gauge shotgun, all while on no sleep and in 120 degree weather.
It drains you very fast!
Yes, I agree, the ecumber rates/consequences could use an overhaul. You can still run with all the gear that I just mentioned... especially when mortars are going off nearby and RPGs and small arms fire is going on around you... but when you get to where you were sprinting to (some form of cover/concealment) you are sucking wind and need a minute. |
