Short Bio/Description:

A relative late comer to the world of skilled fighting, Curtis Simon Orcutt lived in the lived in the city of Edal with his mother, a skilled nurse and sometimes cleric. His older brothers had all gone away to other professions, many of them transporting goods throughout the country. His little brother was still a student, learning the basics of living in the world around him.

Curtis was a gifted student, learning mathematics, sciences, and all manner of folklore while in his youth. He participated in many youth activities at the village church, becoming somewhat of a leader of his peers. He learned the ways of the forest; camping and living off the land were his strengths.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Curtis became a skilled blacksmith, and crafted beautiful swords of all sizes. Though he practiced daily with his creations, he was content to fill his days with the smith and fire. His nights were filled with reading epic tales of fighting men, never imagining he would become one someday himself. One day, after reading a particularly excellent tale, which told of leadership, skilled and talented fighting, and fearless dedication to a cause, a fighting recruiter delivered to Curtis a very provocative letter, promising him untold wealth and challenge if only he would commit to five years of leading the life of a fighter. Curtis knew that many in his village had taken a similar challenge, and returned with wonderful tales of their adventures, dressed in all manner of shiny armor and robes.

Curtis pondered over this weighty choice for many days. Finally, after consulting his mother, friends and brothers, he decided to give it a shot. Choosing his finest sword, and quenching his fire for the last time, he departed Edal for the adventure promised him by the fighting recruiter.

Curtis soon arrived at the Academy, and found that he was a few years older than many of the recruits. His experience as a blacksmith, and the leadership skills learned from his many days as a youth group leader, soon set him apart from his peers. He excelled at every task put before him, and soon departed the Academy successfully, on his way to fighting in the world of Layonara. He longed to gain the skills required to become a “Weapon Master,” and planned his fighting career with this goal in mind.

After arriving on Mistone, Curtis was very lucky to meet and become fast friends with lots of great folks. He adventured much, and gained great experience in many areas of the world. He studied the ways of many great Weapon Masters before him, and sought out their council whenever he could.

He has learned the skills of focusing on his katana, dodging the enemy's blows, mobility on the battlefield, expertise in defending himself, springing an attack on his enemies and, most exciting, the wonderful ability of whirlwind attack. He has learned to intimidate his foes when the need arises. He is reasonably intelligent, quite dextrous, and is becoming stronger every day!!

He adventures daily when possible, and is content to head into Haven alone when needed, but most often is found in a party helping those less fortunate than himself to better their skills.
