Re: not welcome.. I think the main thing I don't like about what I'm hearing, is that much of what went down didn't occur IC. I know most of those who were involved in this, and would have tried to join up for the event myself were I not at work. I'm surprised and a bit dissapointed to hear that a behind the scenes split occured. Take care of it IC or, as Frelinder suggested, make sure it is well known it is private.
This is the same issue from Harlas' quest. Namely, that OOC blurred and even overcame IC workings. Granted, real life is going to seep into RP, as RP is simply a mimic of life to begin with, and one should never become so lost in RP so as to lose their grasp on reality. However, Layo is designed around _character_ interaction moreso than _player_ interaction.
All issues that occur in-game should be handled in-game, in-character, and stay there. There's no reason that _internal_ conflict should be decided externally (through OOC).
I'm not meaning to single this particular ordeal out, but this has been bugging me a lot lately. OOC should never overcome character interaction. And maybe this wasn't even the case here. I'm not wanting to point fingers at anyone. As I said, I am acquainted with and respect many of the players that were involved with this. I don't know the details, I just know that it's really bothering me how much OOC is influencing IC stuff. I think you know what I'm getting at.
