In the nearly eight months I have been a part of the Layo community, I have learned (a few times the hard way) that things go best if you give the next person the benefit of the doubt, and shrug it off if things don't go your way. This isn't a zero-sum game, with clear-cut winners and losers. We +all+ win when, at the end of the day, each of us has got a bit of enjoyment in-game and/or on the forums.
Pardon this sermonizing - yet after +both+ this misunderstanding and that involving Harlas' quest, I couldn't remain silent, as I had intended to do. Though I'll stop with this, my friends: More than once I've heard this community described as a family, albeit a bit dysfunctional, and this metaphor of family helps me resolve issues that come up in my day-to-day experiences; we've got something very special here, and each of us should do our best to preserve it, even if that means giving up a little over the short run. |
