Now that you post about it, it surely seems like an easy mistake to make. The West, Central and East are not for "real world" geography. They represent Layonara geography and you can travel between them, say from Mistone to Dregar and then to Xantril with your character whenever you want to and can. So, the server saves your location and will not allow you to log into a server, that is a part of the world, where your character shouldn't be. I hope that clarifies the issue for you. Be well.
