Thank you for the comment.

All items can be roleplayed to have been sold, stolen, lost, or used up on the trip to the surface. No problem. The staff can be stashed somewhere for later quest potential.

I should have went into more detail on the situation with Silke's House. The reason he is against the evil tendancies of the Drow, specifically those in Olist Orbinn, is due to the fact that their constant scheming against each other in attempts to gain power or status are counterproductive to anything except personal agendas. And even those personal agendas take secondary priority to retaining their status or gaining more. Not only did this get in the ways of Silke's own personal agendas that had nothing to do with status, but also his own ideas for strengthening his House and the city as a whole did not fit with the society. On top of that, his blood family wanted absolutely nothing to do with him because he was born a male instead of a female. The House needed a strong warrior among it's ranks and he was their last chance. Not being born a female meant that he was not going to be a strong warrior by default. Perhaps the society alone didn't change his views on good and evil. But when put together with the fact that even family ties meant absolutely nothing when compared to the evil nature of Olist Orbinn, he decided that whatever else he found, this was not what he wanted. Seeing only the evil side, the journey to the surface would give him an opportunity to see other sides. Not to mention the things already mentioned in the bio.

Lastly, the information on the "intricate workings of Blood Pools" was nothing more than general opinions. Since Underdark folks know very little about the surface world, the best they have for intelligence is educated guesses. The only folks that make regular contact with the surface are traders, and they have litte desire for information like that. Naturally, there probably are intelligence gatherers all over the place, but that information would be very rare at best and certainly not information that a nobody son from a nobody house would have access to. In actuality, the only thing that Silke will be able to take with him to the surface is his knowledge of the Drow. In most respects he will be starting over from zero, even lower than those who grew up on the surface. So don't believe that I have any thoughts that Silke will have any advantages over surface races. In fact, he will be at a great disadvantage in a roleplay aspect. Thanks, let me know if I need to make any other adjustments!
