imo it should be optional....but available. This is the generaly trend in games now days and in my opinion some level of gore is necessary for immersion. What I would say is a reasonable level, acceptable to the situation.

As for the 13yo kiddies, in Australia at least, if you're 13 you shouldn't be playing NWN as it's rated M 15+ :P. Would one of the Americans enlighten me as to what the age requirement for NWN is up there?

To get a PG rating in general, at least in Australia is quite hard. Even having some sort of violent combat is enough to lose a PG rating...hell as I said original NWN had M15+
