Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Special Feat Query Crippling Strike
Type of Feat: Class
Prerequisite: Rogue 10
Specifics: The character deals an additional 2 points of ability score Strength damage when he makes a successful Sneak Attack.
Is this +2 STR bonus for every multiplier of the Sneak Attack
ie...Sneak Attack ( 8d6 ) + 2 STR damage * 8
Or just a straight +2 damage to whatever the 8d6 Sneak gave out?
thanks

| Re: Special Feat Query I'm not sure but I think what Crippling Strike does, is lowering the STR of the opponent by 2 points.

| Re: Special Feat Query Crippling strike indeed does 2 points of Strength damage on your enemy with each succesful melee sneak attack hit. It doesn't give any bonuses to your own attack it debilitates your opponent.

Now, what I don't know is.. does this stack?

I've seen many of my stats reduced more than 12 before.

| Re: Special Feat Query I don't think its only in melee it applies, if you shot with a ranged weapon, you must be 15 feet or closer to apply... i think was something like that. | | |

The 15 feet or closer, I believe, applies to sneak attack range. I know Gilli only sneak attacks on bow duty when he's within a certain range.

| Re: Special Feat Query Hehe it was just a response to the post stating that it might actually refer to bow sneaks as well, which you need to be in range to do and so on...
There have also been characters who have taken it in the past, unaware that it doesn't work for melee.

There have also been characters who have taken it in the past, unaware that it doesn't work for melee. | Wait now, it DOES work for melee, it doesn't work for ranged combat. Be careful now
