Beware! This is a current GM in training!
Before Layonara I had no idea about Roleplaying, PnP or much of the whole Dungeons and Dragons genre.
I did however, thoroughly enjoy two games which lead me to NWN and here.
Baldurs Gate I and II.
After one of the first "Explorer sessions" I held... which led to a TPK ( Total Party kill) from a mere two Griffons... a GM decided to jump in, raise us and give an impromptu Quest.
And that was it for me.
Currently not working by choice whilst studying and gaining qualifications to remove myself from the cursed and unavoidable circle that lies within my area.
The primary job available and that is expected of people to work here is in the multitude of "Call Centre's" around the area.
Saying that, Study is also affected by the mischeivous nature of my 8 month son who... much to our dismay, learnt to crawl and climb at a "way" too early stage.
GM Style
Not wanting to set anything in stone... but currently I'll be aiming for a complete mix of RP, Bashing and investigation.
No resting will be allowed unless pre-authorised. Sleeping for eight hours in the Deep not fifty feet from a well known Dark Elf abode is -not- wise... and you'll likely be woken sharply and rudely.
Advance notice will usually be given for the Team to Buff... in which case you will have a set amount of time before battle commences... depending on the situation.
Looting will only be allowed on certain quests. This will be pre-advised.
Do not Roll just because others do. And if you do roll, Emote it and send a Tell on the DM line what your rolling/emoting for.
Think about things. Because the Quest seems bashy.... does not mean its wise to have your five adventurer's attempt to fight their way into an Orcen Fortress. That is just stupid... and I have no qualms about letting stupid actions be..... *coughs*.... rewarded.
