| Dalanthar and Misted Village Hi.
I have been a question around my head for some months ago. An now finally have time to post it.
During the events of Essrantor's Veil, there was a truce agreement beetwen the Foyer and the Misted village, that truce was to stand together against a common enemy,
Due the events of said Saga, the misted village helped Dalanthar and Dalanthar emited a comunicate where raids to misted village were unlawful.
the question come as if this truce is still vigent.. and tht if the Misted village people has returned to their old habits of stealing and pillaging..
Thanks. | | |

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village Dunno... it's certainly been a long time since that agreement was struck! I'm trying to remember which one of us ran that segment - I think it was... jrizz? Milty?
By Foyer I assume you mean the Boyer Kingdom?

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village It was Jrizz who ran that part of the quest.

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village Goblins and dwarves living together in bloody trees like elves, with nary a fullplate to be seen, all grubby and shrieking and attacking on sight? Bah, that's a crime in itself, even worse than banditry! Fair game to me!
Though if you were good aligned, it might be faux pas. Certainly Aeridenites would be wary of invading tribal villaiges of proto-civilized intelligent humanoids. Neutral and evil folk wouldn't blink twice though, much like irl colonialists back in the 1800s-1960s. When I go there with LN Bjorn, he usually walks forward a bit in party chat mode barking out a parley to them, trying to open trade and offering to teach them to craft to better themselves, so that any GMs involved with that pact can have the opportunity to respond and negotiate. If there is no response, and they shriek and attack, then its a declaration of war. If they decide to talk, negotiate or at the very least tell me to get off their lawn before attacking, then I will. Farros and Czukay just dont care about the law enough for that however! heheh.
Besides, it's such a nice area, it'd be such a shame to make it "off-limits" forever because of some treaty your character never even signed. That's one thing Chongo's awesome for, making these new higher level areas a bit more enjoyable by non fighter/clerics. I always used to feel useless back when the only things worth hunting were meteorswarm spamming giants who never got hurt by their own devastating, screen-sized spells that were built tougher than dumptrucks! Chongo Rules!

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village The outcome of that was that the denizens of the MV took the treaty as a open ticket to run raids all along the trade routes. The government of Dalanthar cant go back on its word of trying to get MV recognized by the kingdom but they are not really moving very fast. I would think that there are still "talks" going on but that Dalanthar turns a blind eye to adventurer raids at this point. So with the exception of those that swore an oath never to return to MV I would say it is open for now but you never know what can happen. It is open for any GM to pick up. I can give a history to any GM that may want to do something with this.
NOTE: During the quest it was found that there were three leaders in the MV a dwarf, a half orc, and a halfling. The halfling leader had both the halflings and the goblins under her. If you want to know their names you will have to find someone that was there.

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village That is exactly my point.. Lance swore to never step in there in order to make the truce go .. but they also said that they were in the intent to stop doing the villanies they were living off and to start make comerce in there..
As you know Toranites are bond to Word. and Lance has not step a foot in there since the quest refusing to go with groups heading that way..
I just want to know if it is a well known fact that the MV habitants have come back to the outlaw way of living they hold before the truce.

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village I dont think that should matter to his oath. What he should do if he finds out about the bandits of MV doing raids is take it to the authorities of Dalanthar.

I just want to know what is the current status of this, So Ic an have a fundamentated answer to when I got in that situation.

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village This definitely is an issue to Drexia too... I remember the oath we swore was explicitly not conditioned on any behavior of Misted Village... however, if it is public knowledge that they are conducting raids on trade routes outside the village, she would certainly take what steps she could to deal with a situation she helped cause.... (the oath said nothing about sniping raiding parties as they set up ambushes on the road )

| Re: Dalanthar and Misted Village I think that if they actually vowed not to return to their ways (don't remember that's a bit far away and Brian was never held up to the promise the others did (she wouldn't believe his word even if he did)) then I think they broke the deal and nullified any oath. As Lance oath to justice would oversee the other one.

That may have been part of the deal struck at negotiations, but was not part of our oath.
