| Ask A Gamemaster Post here if you need help in the NWN world or if you have a general question for the gamemasters. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. When you join you'll also be able to communicate privately to other members (PMs), establish and respond to polls, upload and download content and access many other special features. | Does NWN version matter? I have been hunting through the forums and I apologize if this is a repost but I have had a hard time finding an answer in the vast log of threads here. I was wondering what version(s) of NWN are supported with Layonara? I have lost my CDs and am looking at purchasing NWN 2 online but I don't want to spend 30 dollars downloading the client to find it is not compatible with your hak. Again I am sorry if this is a repost but I am looking to get up and going soon and want to be prepared upon character approval. Thanks for everything and I look forward to seeing you all in game soon.

| Re: Does NWN version matter? Layonara is based on the NWN original (1) game, so I'm afraid purchasing NWN 2 will not get you any closer to playing here.
NWN with expansions is rather well priced these days, so if you can find one, I recommend it just for Layonara's sake. You won't regret it

| Re: Does NWN version matter? Thank you so much for your timely and helpful response. I will make arrangements to find the game, as I am very optimistic about Layonara based on the time I have invested in reading the forums, the incredibly helpful and polite GMs/Moderators and the energy of the gaming community here. Thanks again and hope to see you all soon in game. | | | | The Following User Says Thank You to Tildarus For This Useful Post: | |

| Re: Does NWN version matter? I hear tell that the NWN Diamond Edition isn't sold anymore, but I'd search for that. It has the Expansion Packs in it (included). Try Amazon.com, eBay, GameStop...

| Re: Does NWN version matter? Okay, I have installed NWN (1 Gold Edition), downloaded the All in One Hak and Layonara_v2.61 tlk file and installed the optional, music, portraits and heads and I have the 1.69 update installed. | Re: Does NWN version matter? Do you have the "Hordes of the Underdark" and "Shadows of Undrentide" Expansion packs? Those are also required, and are the Missing Expansion Packs you need. The NWN Diamond Edition contains those along with NWN itself.

| Re: Does NWN version matter? Gold contains NWN + Shadows of Undrentide but not Hordes of the Underdark. The Diamond or Platinium editions have these all as one group or you could try and find it solo to add to what you have.

| Re: Does NWN version matter? And if you buy through Amazon, please use the link "Shop Amazon" on the top right hand corner in the orange font.
Then Amazon gives Leanthar a few cents of the transaction, as all bits help in keeping the server running.
Thank you. | | |
