Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

|  More on the Dragon Islands?
Hello, a new player with a thousand and one questions on a world I've never once visited (a quick search and I'm sure you'll see my only posts thus far are on my character approval thread). I poured through the LORE and found a reference to the Wemics of the Dragon Isles. Granted it's unexplored land for the more common races, but there's still little there. Is the area still under development or can an ambitious player with enough coin sponsor an expedition to chart the uncharted? Well, after a few more levels of course. The area does exist, I've only been there twice before to go spelunking and visit the Minotuars. Haven't really explored the whole.

The Dragon Isle's have been explorable for as long as I've been here, but even then I haven't been everywhere.

Keep in mind that the areas represented in game are no where near the size and scope of the Dragon Isles. Have a look at the maps to get an idea of it.
There are also the antiquated Serpent Isles and Dragon Isles posts
They have a rich history that is entwined with past plots but little of it is actually written in the handbook. V2 Handbook is sorrily out of date and the release of the V3 is not any time soon.
Much can be discovered about it not only thru exploration but by asking those that have seen it and know what significance it has.

I've been on the server for two-and-three-quarters years now, and I've never had a character reach the Dragon and Serpent Isles.
...come to it, I don't know if my GM avatar has ever been to the isles. I wonder if they're exciting?

I have been to the end of the path on more than one occasion. However, I can't tell you what is there or WAS there or what lies beyond...  at least not in the forums. But to wet your whistle to find me in game, here is a pic.
