| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Omni Impel - submission Full Name: Omni Impel
Age: 18
Class(es): Sorceror
Race: Human
Alignment: True Neutral
Deity: Lucinda
Bio/Description:
---------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------------------
In a small human civilization outside of Faroth...
---------------------------------------------------------------
There is a small sign posted outside of a wooden structure called "The Sorceror's Guild"
It reads:
ATTENTION ALL TRAVELERS:
We, at the sorceror's guild, are in search of a young man. He is tall and lean, with short dark brown hair. He has blue-grey eyes and a dark complexion. He was last seen in the center of the village, wearing a dark blue robe and carrying a journey pack.
It was discovered this morning, that the young man left without our authority or consent, and may be trying to leave the village. We do not normally keep people in our presence against their will, but this young elf has a strong will and seems to us that without proper training his skills will get out of hand and become a problem for the world. He has shown an unusual gift in his very quick learning of our magical skills, and on top of this he has been caught reading spellbooks and working with magic by himself. He is not considered dangerous, by any means, but we feel that our guidance is the only way we can be sure he will not become dangerous eventually. We have not seen someone pick up skills and techniques this quickly before, and once again we fear it may get out of control one day.
A few more facts about the young elf: His mother is deceased, but was once a well-known spellcaster. His father is a fighter in the militia that holds Faroth. He has no other siblings. He may once in a while be heard murmuring to Lucinda, who he worships, and may also be heard talking to himself about his mother and father.
Please report any information to Maligar at the Sorceror's Guild.

Somewhere in eastern Wolfswood Forest...
---------------------------------------------------------------
Omni kneels down next to a fallen tree catching his breath... "Why do they want to keep me there so badly?", he ponders. "I did nothing wrong, in fact, I did everything they asked of me, and learned what they taught me"... "I just wanted to learn some of the magic my mother knew so well without them hinduring me." "Those mentors were trying to hold me back, I believe... I need freedom to learn on my own..". "Oh well, I am gone now, for good... I think I can handle myself just fine in the real world" ... WHOOSH, a goblin's arrow stirs the air in front of Omni's face. "Not again!", Omni closes his eyes and murmurs a quick prayer to Lucinda and runs off through the trees, leaving the gibbering goblin behind.
NOTE: Omni was taught the ways of Lucinda by his mother when he was a young boy. As normal mothers told their children bedtime stories, Omni's mother read to him spells from spellbooks and notes from books about Lucinda and The Weave. He was taught the days of celebration of Lucindites as well. He full believes in The Weave and all that Lucinda stands for. | | |

| Re: Omnipotent Impel - submission Hello!
I am not trying to be a pain, but I have several concerns about this character.
1) A lawfull character would stay at the temple, or monks guild, until he got the ok from his superiors to leave. For him to leave early, there would have to be some form of corruption in the temple. Then if he left it would probably be to report the temple to whatever authorities he deemed appropriate.
2) It strongly sounds like you intend for this character to work on mage and monk levels at the same time. Monk is a special class, much like Paladin, and once you leave it you can not return to it. So you would have to take 11 (or however many monk levels, but at least 5) and then switch to wizard class. At least with the bio as it stands now. I want to make sure you are aware of that.
3)I mean no disrespect by this at all, but I can not approve a character named Omnipotent. Omni is ok if you wanted to go with that.
