Short Bio/Description:
Melissa grew up as a regular Halfling would in the Capital City of Pranzis. Well, as regular as a Halfling with not parints would. Her parents died in thier bed due to heart failur. The odds seem off to her, looking back at it. but then, she was too little to realize the odds of thier deaths. Sence her parents passing Melissa has been passed around from place to place most of her life. Sometimes she'd find a people or a person that would love and take care of her. But, something would always happen to them from House fires to random fatal accidents. She felt that the gods did not mean for her to be happy and she was not ment to have family.
In her chiled hood, she was once adopted by an old former adventurer. Melinda Taylor, a human, was her name. She was not a well know woman and did not do anthing of great marret or have high honners in any form. But, Melissa would always love her stories of grand adventure and danger. Melissa soon started having her own dreams about the adventues she could have traviling the world. Dreaming about saving people from dragon's or bandits and the riches she would find or earn for doing so. But, her dream came crashing down when Melinda never returned from work one day. They told her there was an accident and that she was not going to be coming home. Melissa was devistated and did not speek for months. It was in thies months of silence that she started to wonder why so much death revolved around her. Thinking about how many people died, she started to realize that there must have been something more to all the deaths. Melissa started to build large theroies that would sometimes go up to the cities officals or the gods. She starting checking into her theroies, most turned up empty or fulse or unprovable.
This was short lived, The next person that adopted her moved to another city. The "City" was acutally a fort, North Fort. He was a Military man with a family, a wife and two sons. They wanted a girl but his wife could not bare anymore childern into the world. So they adopted Melissa. At first she was shy and angery with this family. After living with them amonth she realized that they were good people and only wanted to have her in the family. It was with this family she opened up and told them about all the others that she lived with, about Melinda, and how they died. She told them about her ideas and theroies. Her new father didnt take her to her theroies, but decied it would be a good idea for her to know how to defend her self. She was taken under his wing and "tranded" with smaller weapons. She loved it, it made her feel her dream of adventuring would come true. Because of her dream, she was way too good at sparing then she should have been for her age. She always was with her brothers or father helping her father with his traning of new recriuts for the fort. She quickly picked up the nickname of Tom, for tommi boy. Many of the men that serviced under her father called her tom, as well as her father him self. She acutally enjoyed the name. Melissa started to think that things were going too well for her now and that her "curse" was finally gone. Untill her Father did not return from a patrol one night. Thier was a skirmush and he fell in the confustion. Mel's heart broke again, she was starting to get used to the feeling. Only two days after this, the families house burnt down traping and killing her mothers and brothers. She had snuck out eariler that night to weep about her father in a "fort" he had help her make.
Watching the flames eat aways the remaning of the house, she promessed that she would never try to have another family again. She never wanted another person she loved to die becuase of her. She no longer wanted to be passed around. She no longer wanted to live in a house. She ran away, fearful that some offical might try and find her to "save" her. Melissa thought that she knew all she needed too to live on the streets. She found out that she knew very little. She managed to work her way back to Pranzis but not much ferther. No one wanted a pint sized Halfling girl to watch thier back. Melissa was forced to walk the streets. She was able to live off of what she could find for awhile, but not too well. Randomly she'd hookup with someone that knew things about the streets and would teach her ways to get food, cons for money or food, and other ways to live and find a place to spend the night. She never stayed near the same person for very long. When ever she feel she was getting attached to them, she would disapear. Afraide that they would die becasue of her. After living as a street rat for a year she started to thinking about her "curse" and if it was granted by the gods or men. either way, she wanted to find out why people would die from being around her and make who was responsible pay - with thier life. This is where her real adventure begins...

I can understand youreagerness to get into the world. But take 20 minutes and expand the bio a bit and more specically expand on the character. A good character with a good background will make the whole experience just much more fun.
The things she likes and dislikes, her personality and so forth. From the bioI assume that she spentquite a bit of time on the streets, so tells us a bit about that. What did she do, was she alone, did she run in a group.
Also which city did she grow up, did she have any friends? Why did she want to travel? Did she hear good stories of the big world or was something pulling her.
Just some ideas to think over.
