| Viralax Fellborn Full Name: Viralax Fellborn
Age: 26
Class(es): Wizard lv 10 / Duellist Lv 10
Race: Human
Subrace: Tiefling
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Deity:
Domains (if cleric): -
Description: Viralax stands roughly two meters tall, his build is athletic and his skin tanned. Tattoos has been chiseled into his forearms and now mark his skin as crude scars. The young wizards appearance isn't the most attractive, his nose has at some point during his life been cracked and doesn't seem to have been aligned properly during the healing proccess. His jaw is slightly deformed with teeth that seem a bit to predatory to be human. Small bumps that once could have had the intention of becomming horns rests without purpose on his forehead. Viralax hair is long and bright red, a well-trimmed mustasch and beard in the same color enrichen his otherwise foul apperance. His dark-hazel eyes sparkle like jewels in fog filled swamp and are framed by his sharp eyebrows.
Short Bio: Viralax was birthed by a human mother but his father was one of the infernal touched Tieflings. Viralax never met his father and still have not to this day. His first name however was a gift from his father the only one he would ever know according to his mother. Growing up was tough for the youngster, even as a small child he was feared and loathed by the townsfolk.
They called him fellborn, a name Viralax later took as his own accepting that part of his heritage in heart no matter how some perceived it. Life was seldom kind to Viralax, but his mother loved and cheerised him despite his appearance, that alone was probably the only thing that saved him from taking to a darker path in life. Growing up without friends was rough on the child, he never dared to approach others, for he feared they would beat him and mock him, so he gazed inwards instead.
Within himself he found a spark which he cheerised and nourised until it grew stronger and into it he poured all his loneliness and fear, for he knew no other way to rid himself of it. With this simple childs act of desperatly wanting a friend and companion he had begun his calling for a familiar, a being that would bond to him and understand his fears and needs when others would not. The creature that found the youngster he could not name by apperance, but he knew instinctivly that he should never fear this creature but love it as a brother, friend and companion on his path through life.
This did nothing well for Viralax connection with the townsfolk, if anything it made things worse. Time and time again he spoke with shadows as others perceived it, or with a small creature which they barely could see in the fading twilight. Their fear for the child grew and at during Viralax tenth year he was driven out of town by an angry mob with burning torches and pitchforks. He travelled without a destination, stole when he was hungry, sleept where he could.
After a time, how long he could not say he was cought stealing a chicken. At first he believed that it would all end there, but he was surprised when the old man who invited him into his small and lofty house. At first he had Viralax help him out with simple tasks, as payment for stealing the chicken - this was the only explanation he gave. In time the boys trust for him grew and the old mans story began to unfold.
He was just as old as he seemed, and just as alone as Virilax had been. His only companion was crow most likely as old as the man. He explained that he knew many secrets, but in his greed of finding them all he had never pondered the thought that he one day would die and had none to pass them onto.
Here Viralax story begins, just as he steps out of his old mentors house, his head filled with the knowledge given from master to apprentice, hedgewizardry indeed, but a start for any wizard with hopes for a better world and a brighter future.
(excuse me for not naming my birthplace and other locations, my knowledge of Layonara is fairly limited as this is my first character, I hope that is ok.) | | |

| RE: Viralax Fellborn Browsed through some more rules lately and I will just point out here that Duellist is something I aim to develop later for this character as there is no logical reason why he should walk that path at the moment. I have some ideas on how he can blunder into the duellist prestige class but there is no point bringing that up as of now. If there is anything else you need clarified or something more that needs to be added I would be glad to do that. I kept the bio rather short for now as im not that familar with the game world and I would rather build my character on first person knowledge then on wild guesses. (which is also the reason why he has lived more or less secluded his entire life, that way I do no have to feign ignorance, it will come naturally with my own ignorance of the game world) | | |

| RE: Viralax Fellborn Nice bio. I see that you understand that PrCs are not approved at character submission so we are ok there. The only thing that needs to be changed is the Tiefling connection. It cannot be a direct connection. Change that and I will approve this character.

| RE: Viralax Fellborn What do you mean by direct connection? As far as I understand they are half-bloods to some form of beings from another plane - more to the demonic side due to their chaotic alignment. Or does simply the tiefling gene just manifest at random in some children if they have had a half-blood in their family tree?
Which would make tieflings anything from 1/100 demon to 1/4 demon... or?
------------
hm, read the tiefling race thread again, as far as I understod my bio fits the general idea of what a tiefling is. But then we could suppose that tieflings were more powerful in their original state when they had more infernal blood in their veins.
Would it be ok to change that Viralax father simply was a tiefling? I would guess that the thiefling blood just grows thinner and thinner as their race seems to be dwindling in numbers. So Viralax mother = human, his father tiefling. Thats better? (assuming there is no such thing as a full blooded tiefling)
Uh, im quite sure im making this more confusing then it is.
------------
Edited the original post, removed the direct connection to the infernal plane and exchanged it with "and his father was one of the infernal touched Tieflings"
better? worse? gummibear? | | |

| Re: Viralax Fellborn To answer your question, tieflings have demonic blood at some distant point in their bloodline. So, yes, tieflings produce more tieflings with the blood line getting weaker as the human blood gets stronger.
At any rate, with the change Viralax is approved. Welcome to Layonara!
