Submission: Freldo Jabutica, Bard Full Name: Freldo Jabutica Age: 20 Class: Bard (Bard/Thief 15/5) (Bard 20) // Edit made on Feb. 20, 2006 // Race: Human Male Subrace: None Alignment: Chaotic Good Deity: Ilsare Description: Medium brown hair, bright hazel eyes and a smile that seems to emit its own faint glow atop a slender agile body. Freldo's got the look, there's no doubt about that! Biography: What can I tell you about my life? Should I begin weaving my tales about the times that I sailed the oceans as a pirate? Then, could I tell you about how I managed to tame a pack of twenty wolves with my song? Finally, shall I tell you how I was named ambassador of a far away land and stand here representing this land? Alas... I could not. I confess that the adage "been there, done that" doesn't apply to me, at all but I can tell you of my past, maybe that will please you and satiate my wish to tell a story. It's all true; I swear it upon Ilsare the fair! Son of Leilon, born to an innkeeper and her philosopher/historian husband, I was brought up surrounded by tales of places, deeds and great people taken out of legend at my mother's inn. Since I remember myself as a child I would stay up late listening at our common room to the stories the patrons brought from ages past. Us, the Jabutica children, were tutored by my father and he sometimes insisted that we all stay up late at night to listen to a tale that some old man or weathered young man would bring of the world at large. I can't complain about my education, I was taught to read at an early age by my mother and taught to play many instruments by my father, my other siblings didn't have the knack that I had with music. I recognize that my parents were very lucky for giving their six children, of which I'm the youngest, the education we had. Never did we lack a book to read, something new that we could learn or an instrument to play, in my case. Two years ago a kindly elder bard, Eldar the Wanderer, came to stay with us for a few weeks for some relaxation. My father had me play for him to show off my "natural ability", as my father put it and in a few days we formed a strong enough friendship that Eldar asked my father for permission to tutor me in the art of the bards. I proved that I was no dullard and in little more than two months I had already tapped into the weave with my song and I was already able to perform some of the tricks of the trade. As an homage to him, I adopted his patron diety, Ilsare, as my own. Eldar stayed with us for nine months and taught me a great deal of the world but I picked up that there were some things that were to dark for him to mention, but I never pressed into these matters, I was already so happy with what he gave me. Sadly, at the end of his stay, we parted ways and he returned to the world that was, as he always put it, his home. I honestly tried to stay in Leilon and continue helping my family out at our inn but Eldar planted a strong seed in me, I grew restless over the flow of the year and I had to adventure out into the world to live Layonara and, perhaps, if I'm really lucky, catch a glimpse of a dragon. That is my story in as few words as I can. How can I be useful? I am no fair warrior but I can be of assistance. Knowing that I lack the experience to set out on my own I will work hard to make myself a useful person to any party of hearty adventurers that will accept me among their numbers. My parents and brothers? I write to them from time to time telling them whatever news I manage to grab a hold of. Since I've been here in Hlint for a few weeks now, they've been able to contact me. They are all doing well - I even dare say they're better now that I'm gone, my unrest when I was there was upsetting them. What is my wish? Fortunately, that's an easy question for me. I want to live the world. Maybe, if I'm very lucky, great things await me and I'm eager to start living Layonara. Thank you for your time kind sir, if there are any more questions I'll be glad to answer them, if not I'll wait your reply to my application.
