Bio:

Growing up on a farm was never fun or easy for Trance. His father was always making him help out with the crops and his mother always making him clean or help cook. It is no wonder he wishes to start life on his own. He loved his parents, no doubt, but he felt it was time to start life on his own. At the age of 19 he does not have a full understanding of the world. He is unaware of the tasks at hand and what lies ahead. He has much much to learn and only time will tell. Trance wishes to escape the farm life and explore new lands.

The only training Trance ever had was a little practice with a long bow that had been in his family for many generations. Trance would practice with his bow on the scarecrows that were near the crops. One early morning Trance and his family were awaken by loud noises outside. Trance rushed to the window to see what was going on outside and was startled by what he saw. Five green goblins were raiding the farm! Trance quickly grabbed his bow and his dad grabbed an axe. They soon slayed four of the green creatures. After witnessing four of his friends falling, the last one cowardly ran. Trance started to pursue him, but his dad called him back and told him not to go because it was dangerous. He learned that they are cowardess creatures and that they will not fight alone.

Since that raid on the farm, many followed. Trance started studying the goblins ways. Trance found out that his family wasn't making much profit and was struggling after the raids that followed. Trance heard from neighbors that there was a goblin cave not far from their farm. So Trance swears that he will hunt every goblin near his farm and eventually the world. He will try to end this evil and aid others in ending evil as well! He just wants to make the world a better place for him and those to follow.

One day Trance heads into the woods to hunt goblins nearby and comes across a bear caught in a bear trap. The bear shows aggression towards him at first, but he relaxes the bear. He looks into the bears eyes and insures it that it will be alright. He then starts to pull apart the the trap from the bears leg and finally he frees it. Trance then decides to be a protector of the woods since the goblins must make their way through them to get to the farms.

He later informs his parents of his future journey and - even though they are sad - they understand that this time comes in every persons life. He thanks his parents for all that they have done for him. He packs his backpack with food, water, and a journal. Trance can be a friendly person, but he didn't have many friends growing up. Trance finds it very hard to trust other people, but if you gain his trust, you gain his companionship.

Hello!
I am curious as to what would make Trance a ranger rather than a fighter. Does he have any connection to a specific area that he or his family helped patrol? Was the farm attacked at one point by some nearby creatures, causing Trance to learn all he could about them to defeat them the next time? In order to be approved we will need to kow a bit more about how or why Trance is a ranger. What kind of training does he have, or look to obtain? The Campaign Guide is a great resource to develop ideas along these lines tailored to Layonara.
I am looking forward to learning more about Trance.

Hello. I think the changes add more flavor to Trance, but he still seems to me to be more of a fighter. The reason I say this is that rangers have trackless step, favored enemies, and an animal companion. These skills are intended to reflfect a deeper connection to the wilderness or other area that the ranger is connected to. This is not apparent in this biography. Could you add a bit more to reflect the connection Trance has with the wilderness? Perhaps he gained it after leaving the farm, or maybe the farm is a remote farm, and he developed the connection by all the trips he and his father made taking crops to market? Use your imagination this is a great beginning, it just needs to be developed a little bit to show that special connection/affinity that a ranger has.
