Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. | Askulkaii Grommilhelm name : Askulkaii Grommilhelm
age :220
race: Dwarf
class : Cleric
Alignment :LG
Domain : Good, Protection.
Bio: ************************* THE DREAM*****************************************
In the misty reaches of his vision. Kaii could see it. A large fire roaring straight up. In the midst of the fire a gleaming axe suspended in mid air. Looking deeper into the fire, Kaii could see figures, some dark, some bright, but all he did not recognise. A faint sound bellowed in the distance. As he strained to listen it got louder and louder. He recognized the voice, as it was his own. Looking again deeper into the blazing inferno, he saw himself, in the midst of many other warriors, axe raised, chanting a prayer to the Father of battle. He watched mesmorized, as he, with the other combatants roar against a unrecognisable enemy...
...........Waking up in a sweat, Kaii sat upright and looking around feverishly, as on instict his hand rushed to his axe. Remembering where he was, the hand relaxed as he slumped back into his bed. Looking at the ceiling, he tried to remember most of the dream. Long moments passed as he pondered this dream, and at last he decided. It was clearly a sign from Vorax. The father of battle has issued a call to him he thought. And to that call he would answer...
************************* Kaii's Background**************************************** *********
For generations the Grommilhelm bloodline had resided in the walls of Shoufal. Like his father, and his father before him and so on, have they been smiths. Moulding the precious ores on the deep earth into tools, weaponary, and armour. They even learnt to cut the rare gems of the land. And like his earlier generation, they were devout to Vorax. His father always told him that a clerics presence in a battle should always be seen. That in itself boosts morale and often that tips the tide of the melee. To do this without flags or banners, Kaii's family dyed their hair in bright colors. From yellow to red, to green and even pink. Kaii himself supported this trait with a mohawk of assorted colors.
For many decades Kaii served the garrison from raids from giants, trolls, and more sinister races from the darker corners of the deep earth. And many times his prayers alone won these battles. But Kaii wanted to travel the land more. To lend aid to thoes who might need it. Shoufal could survive without him, as it had all these times. Then the night of his dream came.
1. I have read and understand the dogma of Vorax, and will play Kaii as best i can to serve him.
2. In kaiis mind, valor in battle, either with his axe or his prayers, will bring him closer to Vorax. He often helps wherever he can, lending healing aid or his strenght to his companions, for weakness is not a option. Kaii often goes into a rage at the first sight of undead. For these are the preferred warriors of the greatest enemy, Corath.
3. Often wearing his full platemail, Kaii often weilds a large two handed axe. Thou sometimes he will use a shield and battleaxe, all depends on the battle he is currently fighting. When not in combat Kaii often likes to roam the forges, watching the local smiths, and sometimes shows them some of the secrets of his familys trait. | | |

| Re: Askulkaii Grommilhelm Hello!
This is a nice bio. I only have one concern. AS a cleric of Vorax, if a dwarf dyed his hair, it should be in a colour favoured by Vorax. I am not sure about a dwarf with a mowhawk either, so be prepared for odd looks and probably a few comments by the rest of the dwarven community.
With that said, Approved. Welcome to Layonara
The IP is west.layonara.com it can be found in gamespy under roleplay
the password is layoplayer
Have fun.
