| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Character Submission Full Name: Anri Lightsteel
Age: 18
Class(es): Monk (eventual Assassin class if possible)
Race: Half-Elf (male)
Subrace: N/A
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Deity: Rofierin
2 Domains (if cleric): N/A
Bio/Description:
-Born into a middle class artisan family. Father(human) is a blacksmith, mother(elf) is a weaver.
-Went to monastery as a child, due to breakup of parents over racial differences. Recently left monastery.
-Longs to see parents again and have the reconcile their differences, although it is mostly a pipe dream, although he tells himself it is not ((denial)). Whereabouts of either one are unknown, and the chances of reuniting are very slim, assuming they are still alive.
-Learned purity of heart, mind, and body, and developed his talent of unarmed combat at the monastery.
-Slightly over average height, thin, dark hair and eyes, no tatoos, light-to-pale skin.
-Strives to be a champion of truth and justice, protect the weak, and serve the forces of good.
Note regarding the desired Assassin class and the LN alignment:
((I understand that this could be considered controversial due to the association between Assassin and Evil, but I'm trying to go against the mold and have my character be an assassin who targets the leaders of evil, instigators of rebellion, etc., with the intention to uphold good by stopping evil at its source. If it will keep my character from being accepted, I'll take that part out and leave the rest of the character exactly as described above. Please make a note in the reply if you wish for me to remove the desired Assassin part.))
((If any part needs changed/more detail, please let me know.))

| RE: Character Submission Hi there
The assasin part wil not be approved at time of submission, so please remove all of that. With a proper development thread and good solid RP you can apply for Assasin at a later stage when it will be reviewed again.
Please expand the bio slightly, giving us more background on where he was born and where he attended the monastery. Also would like to know more about the characteristics of Anri.I can see what he has learned and what he strives for, but what is he like now.

| RE: Character Submission ((*Erases Assassin part*))
Anri was born on the continent of Voltrex, in a small Elf village hidden in the Relishian Forest. His father was not with his mother at the time, having already left. Upon giving birth, the child was discovered to be a half-elf, and the mother was exiled from the village for partaking in pleasure from a human. The child was sent to the city of Saida to be excommunicated to a monastery on the island of Talimar, in the Kingdom of Roldem. After weeks of traveling aboard ships, and passing through large, unfamiliar cities, he finally arrived at the city of Silden, where two waiting monks took him back to their monastery. Located on the southern outskirts of the Dread Forest, Arin was secluded from modern life, and knew little of the lands that surrounded him. During his 18 year stay at the monastery, Arin learned the virtues of a monk, and the combative skills to support them and to protect the innocent. Upon his 18th birthday, and coming of adulthood, Arin chose to leave the monastery, and all he had ever known, to journey the world and find his parents. He began his journey by traveling to Caralyn...((brings to present day))
Anri chose to become Lawful Neutral because although he strives to uphold good, he desires to make his own decisions as to what is right. This belief is a result of his forced expulsion from his village as an infant, which demonstrated to him that authority isn't always right and just in its decisions, and that sometimes one must decide for himself what to support. Usually, the ideals he supports align with good, but there are times where he disagrees with the decisions of authority. He strongly believes that one cannot completely rely on authority to maintain a balance, and that sometimes personal action is necessary to reach equilibrium.
