Bio/Description:
Bladen was once called Tathlyn Leudith and was born a noble to the Matron of House Leudith and sired by its overly incompetent weaponsmaster in the City of Stealthy Spiders, Olist Orbinn. As the son of Trell’on, Tathlyn was trained in the arts of war further than most nobles of his rank; being from a lowly house, however, and due to his father’s ineptitude, Tathlyn was forced to hone his formidable abilities in the wilds and darker parts of the city.
Advancing above those of similar rank, but forever setting his sights well above his station, Tathlyn sought to dethrone the son of the 13th house, whom was the top of his class during his stay at the academy. In this he repeatedly failed, but always due to the outnumbering nature of his chosen enemy and his lackeys. That is until his final battle, where he slowly stalked and defeated his enemies and all that came within sight or hearing of him before finally besting the lead warrior in combat.
After picking off most of the loners, Tathlyn led the remaining combatants into the center of the arena, but he did not use the typical striking from above technique that is the staple of drow combat; Tathlyn instead rested just under the soil and sprung upwards, felling two of the 5 that were still viable participants in the contest. There he smirked at the last two lesser warriors and spun away, allowing his rival to dispatch the last two lesser opponents. He then hid behind a fallen body of a “friend” in his stay in the warrior’s school. Whom he let fall to the blades of lesser fighters in order to set up this very coup.
As the grand noble came within sight of yet another fallen warrior and no sign of his quarry, he let loose a howl and began to taunt Tathlyn, “the lesser 3rd Boy” as he called him. Tathlyn took offense to this comment and laid a darkness spell upon his main weapon. He then took to the air and leapt into his foes’ legs in the darkness, before crouching into his unorthodox fighting stance. In the darkness brought about by his trickery, Tathlyn made short work of the noble fool, but finished him in the light of natural darkness, so that his mentors could see his talent and ruthlessness. Beating the noble to near unconsciousness before laying him down with the coupe de gras, Tathlyn stole the show and made a true enemy for all his days.
The 13th House even took offense to the plight and shame brought about from their taunting son, whom was defeated by the son of an idiot and on top of it all, a noble from a house of no consequence. Moving against the lesser house was beyond hilarity for the powerful 13th House, however, the young son of the battered and struggling nobility could not go unpunished. So he was hunted during his time away from his compound and set upon at every turn. His way with the women of the city and his unparalleled wit saved him many a forever night in the dim city.
Soon after repeated attempts to dispose of this troublesome youth, the great family set a challenge to him, one that he couldn’t deny. One-on-one with the noble who he humiliated. He accepted the fight and never showed, telling everyone that the ugly male broke into tears at his beautiful face and couldn’t bring himself to raise a blade to him! This set the greater house in rage and they moved to dispose of the now doomed House Leudith.
Having suffered from her strong son’s ego, the Matron called upon Vierdri’ira to help them in their time of need. And the goddess granted her favor to the lesser House. They did not win the battle, but their inner compound was not breached and the offending House lost 3 priestesses and their House Wizard to Bladen’s deadly blades that dark morn. The city was very quick to act, since the 14th house was assured to gain the spot just before it, and granting it one seat away from the Talthara, from which it has been striving to gain for centuries.
With the miracle coup in place and the great house foiled, it was soon destroyed in its entirety and House Leudith was granted the title of 66th house of Olist Orbinn. It is at this time that Bladen met a female commoner warrior of incredible beauty and ambition that would not be realized as her station in the city would allow. He told this Talina Faynevon of his love for her, and they decided to flee to the surface, where they could both rule their lives as they wished.
Leaving the city, and with his family in a better position than ever before. His running was left unquestioned. Better to have her son gone than causing more trouble again. For, the Spider Queen would not save his ignorance yet again, surely, the Matron mother thought.
Thus they traveled the Underdark, they stayed in luxury with servants bringing them anything they wished. And he became known as Bladen and she Phoenix after the mythical bird that is brought to life from the ashes, much as Bladen’s love did for her lot in life. Eventually boring the both of them, they soon joined a surface raid and followed the troupe to the surface lands, but got separated in a gnomish attack, leaving them to find their own way upwards and onwards to the burning lands above. Weeks later, upon gaining the surface, they quickly killed their fill of topside elves, and sought other means for their respective blades and arrows.
One day while out to shop and play, Phoenix simply never returned. Bladen, distraught and worried, scoured the whole of the city for her. Finding no trace of his love, he stayed on in the chance she may resurface. Although with nearly a half-year living his lonesome dejected life, he cut his enormous losses and sought passage back to the surface. With his love lost and his anger to the front of him, he wished only to pursue the death of enemies with the fervor that others had seen briefly in his youth.
Bladen is a tall and muscular (5’ 6”, 126 lbs.) drow with mid-length, silky silver hair—longer in the front than in the rear—and wears nothing save black clothing, ever in blood red trim. With his gorgeousness and grace ever apparent, it is always of hot debate whether his skills with words or his devilish beauty are the most alluring of his traits. And unbeknownst to him, his biggest flaws as well. His eyes are a startlingly bright scarlet and seem to burn even while in the light. He also bears a large tattoo of a elongated wingless dragon that coils from midway up his left forarm, turning around and up the whole of his arm, ending with it's head and foreclaws upon his shoulder.
Since the loss of Pheonix, Bladen has become lost and views his actions as meaningless in the grand scheme of things. To speak of Bladen as vicious is an understatement. He will kill anything, but remains an enigma, having no racist tendencies and is very comical. A true noble, Bladen looks to all but those of greater station than himself as underlings. He is an alluring male of stunning beauty and deadly skills, and is well aware of this. Sarcasm spewing as his blades dance and cleave, Bladen is a witty combatant in skill and word, he laughs and tends to comment about his extraordinary “painting” abilities as he coats the floors and walls with his enemies blood; always careful to avoid spattering his expensive clothes.
To women he is always very flirtatious. He typically uses his grace and wit to seduce women of power, even if it is just to get in their good graces. For he knows that his still untapped skills and amazing looks cannot please everyone.
Bladen aims to be the best killer in all the Underdark. He is a consummate warrior who has picked up many useful and deadly killing techniques while with a group of skilled assassins. He wades through his enemies, killing everything within reach. “When you kill with your hands, there is a reverence.” |
