Default Mizu

Mizu
Name: Mizu
Age: 26
Class(es): Rogue/Cleric
Race: Human
Alignment: True neutral
Deity: Shindaleria
2 Domains (if cleric): Animal, Magic

<span />Bio:
Being born a sailors son, Mizu always thought that he was going to follow in his father’s foot steps. By the age of 8 Mizu was a part time sailor on his father’s ship.
Being one with the seas, and that fact that Mizu's father was a firm believer in Shindaleria, Mizu was introduced to the teachings of Shindaleria at a very young age and learnt about her from the other sailors on board, who were also believers in Shindaleria.
Mizu has always been true to Shindaleria, never listening to those who would try and speak of Mist. As far as Mizu was concerned, Mist was an enemy of sailors, who brought about great storms, ruining the beautiful calm ripples of the flowing ocean.
Mizu didn’t spend all of his time on board though. When he wasn’t on board, and wasn’t learning more about Shindaleria from anyone he could find that could tell him more about her, he spent his time learning from a man that said he was an ex-sailor but looked a lot more like a rogue.
Mizu met this so called ex-sailor when he was about 12 years old. Running through the streets doing some errands for his father, Mizu almost hit the rogue head on, if it wasn’t that the rogue had very quick reactions. He sidestepped out of the way and attempted to trip Mizu up in the process. Almost landing face first into a nice muddy puddle, he was able to quickly balance himself out again. The rogue was pretty amazed at how good Mizu’s balance was, and it all started from there.
For the next few weeks, every time the rogue saw Mizu he attempted something else in which could get Mizu hurt pretty bad, but every time his quick reactions were able to get him out of trouble, although in some cases only just in time.
Mizu finally confronted the rogue, asking him why he kept on trying to injure him in ways that could have been fatal. The rogue answered with a smirk, and asked Mizu if we would be willing to meet him at the inn whenever he was in town. Although not to sure at first, Mizu soon decided that it couldn’t really hurt, and so Mizu’s training began.
The rogue taught him many things; one of them was the ability to know where to strike an enemy, how to hit hard and fast and to aim for your enemies weak points. The rogue also taught him how to move around silently, and to stay hidden in shadows. He always thought to himself that it would be a good skill to know, whether he was going to actually use it or not.
Although Mizu knew that the rogue must have had an extraordinary life, full of crime and murder, he knew the man was very skilled at what he does. The lessons with the rogue started to dim down after a few years as the only thing left the rogue had to teach was how to pick pocket, which was something Mizu refused to learn. He felt that he had no need for those abilities, as much of his life was spent at sea, and a sailor never steals from another sailor, ever.
Of course Mizu still needs plenty of practice, as he has never actually used the skills he learnt in real combat, well he did practise against scare crows and planks of wood, but then you can’t really call that real combat now can you?
Mizu Weapon of choice was a rapier. He was a lot agiler than most of the other sailors so when not doing duties on board he was always practising with his rapiers, for you see Mizu uses two rapiers, although most of the time he just uses one, using two only for when he feels the second one needs to be brought into action.
After sailing with his father to Port Hampshire and back, Mizu found that the rogue had vanished. No one knew where he went; just that he stumbled out one night and never came back. Losing his teacher, Mizu spent more of his time worshipping Shindaleria. As he travelled far and wide with his father, at each and every port he would search for someone to teach him more about her. Shindaleria was beginning to become Mizu life. Everything he did revolved around her. Mizu prayed daily, but not just once daily, but three, four maybe even five times a day. Whenever he needed guidance or help, Mizu knew that Shindaleria would have the answers he needed.
There was quite a few times where his father’s ship was attacked by pirates. Although not as good in battle as everyone else, his agility more than made up for it as he dodged and dived from attacks while making sneaky attacks on pirates busy fighting the sailors. Of course at sea was when he tended to use both of his rapiers the most. A shield always weighed him down, and he always moved the best when he was able to move quickly.
Being a sailor, and never really venturing any further than the port cities that he arrived in, Mizu never really knew about any deities other than Mist and Shindaleria. For all he knew, they are the only two that exists. Mist was the enemy, and she was the enemy of sailors. She came from nowhere and is trying to destroy the beauty of the ocean. She doesn’t belong. She’s a false god. Mizu has very strong feelings towards his faith.
There was one such time out at sea where Mizu spotted a ship dumping barrels of waste into the sea. Mizu watched in horror as the clear blue water began to turn green. Although Mizu knew that his fellow crew members could be hurt, he felt is was the right thing to do so ran to his father and persuaded his father to go stop them. As his fathers ship began moving closer, the ship began firing at them. A mighty battle began in which both sides lost men. Seeing an opening, Mizu jumped into the water and climbed up netting hanging from the side of the ship. Using the skills the rogue had taught him, Mizu snuck up behind the captain and helped his rapier to his throat. Telling the enemy sailors to stop firing and to move to the back of the ship, his fathers boat was able to swiftly move in and take control of the ship. Or so they thought. With the captain of the enemy vessel chained up, Mizu and some of the sailors of which he served with began dragging the barrels back on board. Upon pulling up the last barrel, the sailors of the enemy ship decided it was better to fight than be prisoners. They charged the sailors, who were watching them, and yet another battle broke out. The battle ended with all but a few of the enemy sailors still alive, but somehow his father was injured during the fight.
It was then that Mizu noticed that Shindaleria was listening to him. Using a bucket, Mizu threw it over board attached to a rope and pulled it back up full of sea water. Praying to Shindaleria, he asked her to help heal his father’s wounds. He poured the water onto his father’s wounds, and left his father to rest in bed for a few days. Mizu Father’s wounds healed quickly, surprising the other sailors.
While his father was healing, Mizu and the sailors took the boat they had captured back to port. They made sure to get rid of the waste properly, burning it all in a fire just outside of the gates of town.
Being a ship of worshippers of Shindaleria, the ship was often caught in storms brought about by Mist, but with the watchful eye of Shindaleria always keeping an eye on them, they were always kept safe.
It was on Mizu 21st birthday that he arrived at the port of Lannisport. While there he came across the temple of Shindaleria. He knew becoming a cleric of Shindaleria was that he was destined for, but he didn’t want to abandon his father and the crew of which felt like they were family themselves. After a long discussion with his father, it was decided that he would go and study with the clerics of Shindaleria if they would accept him. The ships agreed that it was what Mizu should do and with that, he made his way towards the temple, leaving those who held dearly to continue with their lives.
Upon arrival of the temple, there was a sea elf who kept a watchful eye on Mizu.
It was around a month before the elves let him become a cleric, spending the time testing the knowledge he had of the mother ocean, and how devoted he was to her.
As he went through training he found that although praying to her a lot was good, he only really should pray to her at mid day, when the tide is at its highest. There were many things that he did not know about Shindaleria, but then he knew that as there isn’t a lot you can learn from sailors.
That was five years ago. He was a fully fledged cleric after four years, and began travelling on his father’s ship now and then, offering protection to the ship as they sailed from port to port. Now 26 years old, Mizu decided to begin to explore inland, and along the way enlighten others to the path of Shindaleria to the best of his ability.
Everything that Mizu does, he does because he feels it’s the right thing to do. The way he see’s it, if the same thing were happening to him, he wouldn’t like it, so because of this he always does what he feels is right.

1/ I have read and understood the information available on Shindaleria and I will do my best to RP a cleric of Shindaleria
2/ Mizu has been brought up around the sea, and sailors who pray to Shindaleria, not Mist. He believes everyone should respect the sea’s beauty and not just those who worship Shindaleria. He makes sure to let everyone know of the usefulness of the sea, and that anyone who dares pollute the Mother Oceans waters will suffer greatly. Mist is the greatest of enemies and anyone that follows her shall not receive any mercy from him.
3/ Due to Mizu not living a life under the ocean like most followers of Shindaleria and due to the fact he was taught earlier on in life by a rogue, Mizu prefers to use rapiers and will wear medium armour until he feels it begins to hinder his movement (as soon as the armour negates his dexterity bonus, he’ll start wearing light armour). He always wears the colours of Shindaleria whether he is wearing medium or light armour.

I hope this is okay, I sense there will probably be afew errors that I will need to clear up but that doesn't bother me too much. Fingers crossed, ay.
I decided to play a cleric because I don’t feel my role playing skills are good enough yet to be able to play Kaito in the way that show’s his full potential.

Although approved by Leanthar, I'd be more than accepting to tidy that bit up for you.
I'll start work on it now.

Nicely done. It seems to flow more, and be more meaningful to Mizu.
Thanks for the extra effort!

OH! I just remember, its not really worth writing another paragraph for, but his mother was just a sailor, from a sailing background, on his fathers ship, but she died in a storm caused by mist when Mizu was about 2 years old. This is why he would never betray Shindaleria.

(I can't believe I forgot to mention anything about his mother, sorry about that, I hope this is okay)
