Full Name: Ashiel Relvin Age: 76 Class(es): Rogue/Shadowdancer Race :Half-elf Alignment: Chaotic-Good Deity: Kahirien Short Bio/Description: Seen as a burden by elf and man alike, she was almost an exile for all her childhood. Being hated by all in the village for an illegitimate marriage that was not her fault, she began to hate in return. Instead of relying on others as she had once, she began to steal from those who offered her food. After getting caught and thrown in jail for two years she finally realized that she was made for something better. Now as she tries to make up for all the wrongs in her past: she uses her skills to carry out justice upon the evil and help the week. When she got out of jail she felt so alone. She wandered for a long time until she got to a town by the name of Alber. There an old elven couple found her and took her in. They taught her how to use her skills to help and not to harm. They also treated her as their own child and taught her their native language of elven. She felt for the first time in her life that she belonged. This was the happiest she had ever felt. It lasted for about 9 years. Until one night she woke up to the sound of screaming. “Maybe it was just a dream," she thought but the screaming continued. She threw the covers off of herself and ran into the hall but saw nothing. She went to where the old couple slept and the screaming grew louder and louder. When she got there she saw that the door was cracked and suddenly the screaming stopped. She peeked in and saw a man standing over the couples bloody and lifeless bodies. She stood there thinking about what she could do but the man turned and saw her. He started after her and she was not fast enough. He grabbed her and threw her into the wall. Then he started to kick her in the stomach. Thinking she was dead he left but before he did she saw that he had a tattoo of a shadow on his arm. After he left she tried to get up but could not. She had to wait till morning to get her strength back. The next morning she got up slowly and stumbled into the old couple’s room. On the floor she saw their bodies. She walked over to them and started to sob. Right there and then she swore that she would find the man who did this and kill him. Taking on the elven couples last name (Relvin), she left in search for the man who did this. "The only thing that is holding me back is my skills," she thought. "They are not strong enough to do what I need to do. I need to find a way to enhance them. The man who did this will pay!" As she was traveling she was summoned by a gold dragon to the town of Hlint. Thinking about what she was going to do, she finally decided to continue her search and someday hopefully find him. After coming into contact with shadowdancers in multiple settings and recognizing both the advantage and some sort of conection to the ability to manipulate and blend with shadows, Ashiel was certain that she should pursue this path to improve on her skills. Perhaps this would lead her to the man that she hunted. After gaining some skill in the arts of a rogue she left Hlint for a time to search for the man and also to search for a trainer who could teach her the ways of the shadows. As fate would have it these two goals were acomplished simultaneosly. She was captured by a group of Shadowthieves who discovered that as a woman she had skills in manipulation that were valuable to their group. They forced her to serve them and actually assigned the man who killed her family as her trainer. The man eventually confessed that he regreted what he had done to her especially since he had gotten to know her. He died of a sickness in Ashiel's arms while helping her to escape from her captivity. She has just begun learning the ways of the shadow but he taught her enough about where to get information and how to train that she should be able to continue for some time to improve her skills without a dedicated instructor.

I have updated my bio and would like to begin taking levels as a Shadowdancer. I recognize that a CDQ is recommended for this prestige class but I would like to ask for an exception. I participated in Remy Zephyr's CDQ for his shadowdancer and also participated in a quest where the party was entertained by a band of shadowdancers. I am hoping that this along with the long absence from play over the past 6 months accounted for in her character development thread (which includes initial training as a shadow dancer) will be sufficient to justify her shift. On a second thought, if you have a character development thread that talks (in some detail) about the two quests that you are speaking of above I will approve the prc without a cdq. But it has to be in your character development (in some detail, not just in passing) at the time of my posting here.

I am not sure if my character development thread meets the standard you have set. Here is the link to the development thread. It turns out that the interaction with the travelling band of shadow dancers was during Remy's CDQ. I had this tendency towards shadowdancer written into the development thread from the beginning, starting with the death of her parents at the hands of an evil shadow dancer. With the long absence and the way I accounted for it I am a little unsure what a CDQ for this would entail but if needed I will work something out.
