Biography

In the years following his graduation into manhood, Hartlight has done nothing but huddle about his home south of Haven and wish upon the noon-day clouds that he was one of the gaseous, morphic giants staring back at the world. Only in his dreams could he imagine himself ever picking up a sword, and thrown into the midst of conflict. Fateful guidance, per se, was the force behind the willing nature of avarice, and when his parents vanished into the woods, the world suddenly came real. There was no guardian to speak unto the Winds of Change and dissuade it from its mission of bringing doom. Hartlight would need to work.

A year ago, he began intensive training in the early childhood arts his father had passed onto him: stickfighting. From whirling a branch in the air, Naethun quickly progressed onto metal. Lighter, and more balanced, the blade proved to become his closest ally, and most accurate judge of all things.

Swordsman Haeric Stagwatch came to Hartlight, an untidy and disinterested individual, and took him as his lay pupil. Hartlight’s opportunity to become something greater than a farmer blossomed rapidly. The longer he spent with Haeric, the more he learnt of the art of fighting, and the craft of swordsmanship. Haeric’s philosophies of relevance, decency, and morality slowly rubbed off on Naethun when until his master had vanished, too. Like his parents, his guidance had suddenly vanished without word.

But with the skills of a sellsword at hand, Naethun was alas prepared for the world before him.

Description

Naethun is fair skinned, tanned from a decade of working in the sun. His eyes are olive, with his hair being a few shades darker. He stands about 5' 11" and stands tall, not proud. He works on self image, though he is careful not to impose. He acts curteous at times, and honorable at others. He can be surprisingly edudite, but those occasions are few and far between. He enjoys the outdoors, and rural life is the life he knows best. When in cities or enclosed spaces, he feels trapped and unproductive.
