Bio

Physical: tall and thin - even emancipated, Essan's body shows her tendancy towards running away in the night. her clothes are always crunpled and often torn, through carelessness as often as through lack. long brown hair and light green eyes enhance an otherwise unremarkable face. Once she starts talking however, people stop looking at her and get captivated by her intricate discriptions,

HIstory: Early life for Essan was was spent getting out of trouble - never a ringleader in her childhood group but always the one who found the way out, she was often selected for "you tell them". This combined with a slightly unfortunate tendancy to pour out incredible amounts of detail (always an indication of massive curiosity but not much self control) , meaning that the adults often knew EXACTLY what was meant to happen and how it went wrong. Slowly Essan grew more skilled at containing herself and demonstrated that the more details you used, if phrased well, would tend to enhance your story.

Always a highly charismatic speaker, essan first became homeless when in the course of a nightmare aged 16 she accidentally burned down her own home. after several similar incidents, none very serious but all inevitably resulting in burnt bedclothes at the very least, she appealled to the local clergy for help. the priests refuse to house her but provided basic tools to rebuild and library access to start learning to control her innate abilities.

Her natural tendancy towards detail at first made her seem like an ideal candidate for wizardry, but regardles of how much she studied she could never learn the complex spells shown her, occasionally producing a much simplar version that would not work for anyone else. Her wizard mentor sat with her for several nights counterspelling everything she did in her sleep, but this was obviously not a long term solution. Slowly however, working with the patterns build when trying to cast magical effects a system of drain then sleep, and eventually slowly (taking almost 7 years) a sufficient minimum amount of control was established.

A natural tendancy towards fire based magic and an aptitude for studying made essan welcome in various center oflearning - but she prefers to researh the exotic and chases down any lead to hidden ruins, unusual practices and surprisig combinations - Anything there is a chance that people dont already know. Her childhood curosity if anything now burns stronger and the force of her personality is normally sufficient to allow her to be permitted to travel into these areas. If it isnt she will choose to travel there anyway - sneeking around behind any guards and breaking through any locks she comes across however nessesary.
