Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

| Grohin Silveraxe Full Name: Grohin Silveraxe
Age: 70 (I'm not sure here about the age of Dwarves, standard NWN dwarf start at 50 so I guess 70 is a young adult dwarf, correct me if I'm wrong)
Class: Fighter/Cleric
Race: Dwarf
Subrace:
Alignment: Lawful Good
Deity: Vorax
Domain: Good, War
Description:
Physical: Grohin is a strongly built dwarf of average height. His hair and bear is red. His beard is braided with silver and gold metal band.
History:
Grohin was born in a small dwarven clan living in the Storm Horn Mountains on Dregar. The clan was well known for the valor and honor of its member. All the clan looked to Vorax and had always upheld his believes. Grohin upbringing was all geared towards making him a full member of the clan, i.e. making him a stout, honorable fighter. And a fighter he became. Though he quickly felt that war and the battle was not all there was in life and he begans looking for answers and guiding. It was only natural that he turns towards the few cleric of the community as they were held as the wise-dwarf and those who knew better *grins*. Thus, Grohin began learning the teaching of Vorax more fully and took up the path to becomes a cleric, though his love of the battle never quit him and he never abandoned his fighter training, furthering it by not only honing his physical skills and strength but by also strengthening his mind and knowledge of war.
There is not much to say about Grohin parents. They were in all way average, not boring but well there was nothing special about them to make them stand apart from the rest of the clan. And for that matter, no dwarves (except maybe for the clerics) stood apart in that clan. The clan was a whole and had always been so. It had never produced any particular hero, but the clan itself was known. Well....
Until that fatefull day. Rumors of war had reached the Silveraxe clan. Rumors about an army of evil dwarves and apparently demons(or devils, well evil things anyway *grins*) disembarking on the coast of Dregar, not far south of the Storm Horns. A call was sent and the Silveraxes marched for war. The army was bigger than expected though and led by a superior leader, using unconventional (some would call his method unethical and treacherous, the Silveraxes certainly did). No Silveraxes escaped that battle as they fought to the last and allowed for others to escape. Grohin (who was left behind to protect their home dwelling) and the few young dwarf who were not yet ready for war, were all that was left of the Silveraxe clan. Grohin clearly unable to survive alone with the youngs decided to seek help with another clan. Thus effectively ending the existence of the Silveraxes. Though Grohin did not stay with his 'new' clan. He decided that it was time for him to go on his own and find his own pathes.
What about his views and believes about the battles? Well, that was that, a battle. He was not there to help and he resent that to a certain extent, but he understand that his duty was to protect their homes. And although the battle was lost, the war was only begining and he would seek out a way to win it. But he also knew that he cannot wins it on his own, and he needs to find help.
So he don his armor, took his battleaxe and shield and set off for a journey that would led him to Mistone and the temple of Vorax in the Berhagens mountains. There he heard, from others dwarves adventurers of a place called Hlint, so he followed them there and.... (let the adventure begins)
1. I have read the information on Vorax and I will play Grohin as a faithful priest of Vorax to the best of my abilities.
2. From his childhood and upbringing, Grohin was and is a devout follower of Vorax. He will seek out evil and oppose it. But he will not enter war unnecessarily or without a good deal of thought. He is not one for books though, what he has learn of the faith, he has learnt it from the cleric of his clan. But he knows that war is not won with strength only. So he took time to learn about both divine and practical (tactics, strategy...) ways to win a battle and leads a war to victory. Thus, though he not knows it yet, he'll probably follows the path of the Battle-Priests of Vorax.
3. The battleaxe is Grohin's weapon of choice. He also wears a red full-plate adorned with silver designs.

groin /gr??n/ Pronunciation Key - Show Spelled Pronunciation[groin] Pronunciation Key - Show IPA Pronunciation
–noun
1. Anatomy. the fold or hollow on either side of the front of the body where the thigh joins the abdomen.
2. the general region of this fold or hollow.
Do you really want your character to be named after the pelvic region of the anatomy? I doubt anyone else will type the accent on the O. Perhaps a name change would be a good idea. | | |

| Re: Grohin Silveraxe Well, yes. Though if you look into the Dwarf names in Tolkien, you'll found that one. Ok, maybe another reason to change name.
Though in french 'Groin' would mean the nose of a pig - hmm now that I think about it it might be really wise to choose another first name *burst out laughing*
Ok, name edited as per Talan suggestion.
