| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. | Cleric of Lucinda Full Name: Liatsh
Age: 23
Class(es): Cleric
Race: Human
Subrace: ~~
Alignment: NG
Deity: Lucinda
Domains (if cleric): Magic, Healing
Short Bio/Description:
Description:
Liatsh is of average build and looks for her age, standing at about 5’8” and an athletic thinness takes form from time to time when her robes move just right – though most of the time the robes are lose and flowing, revealing little of her shape. Nothing in particular stands out when you look upon her physical form. A strand of shoulder length black hair falls into her face as you look at her and without thinking she brushes it away.
Her robes are blue and white in color and the quality appears to be standard priest attire. She also carries a staff but only uses it when necessary, it’s clearly more worn from the road than from battle. The Holy symbol around her neck is that of Lucinda and its kept in pristine condition and always visible.
Bio:
Most children take after their parents, Liatsh is no different. Before her parents met, and long before she was born the two had been traveling the world on different paths spreading the teachings of their goddess, Lucinda. Both hailing from Spellgard originally, they would return home for the cities many festivals and events celebrating Lucinda. As fate would have it, the both of them had returned from different directions at the same moment they arrived at the city gates. Sharing a smile and a greeting they both entered together and the rest is history, as they say.
Years later, after settling down in Spellgard together, they had their first child, a daughter they would name Liatsh. As Liatsh grew and the years passed they would teach her the ways of Lucinda and make her recite the five precepts of the Coran arta i' Tha vair maen. She would sit and listen to the tales her parents would tell about their travels and how when she was old enough, she would walk the same path. And when the time came, that’s what she did. Liatsh left Spellgard with only her robes, her staff, a Holy symbol given to her as a gift from her parents and a scroll with the five precepts of the Coran arta i' Tha vair maen written upon it. She would now walk the same path as her parents before her... once out of the gates, she did not turn back.
(the scroll I intend to create using the scroll/inks after creation. And is something that Liatsh holds as she meditates)
Dogma:
1. I acknowledge that I have read and understand the dogma AND the wards of my chosen domains and expectations of Lucinda and intend to follow them to the best of my abilities.
2. Liatsh grew up as a child of devout followers of Lucinda. Both parents with their own individual experiences with the faith that they shared. Liatsh followed the faith because that is what she was taught but she lacks the real first hand experience that her parents obtained. She doesn’t wish to leave her home and friends behind but she feels she needs to in order to experience the magic of Lucinda first hand and experience what her parents had experienced. Only then will she truly take firm belief in her goddess and gain the experience and power to help others and spread the words of Lucinda.
In the beginning I intend to play her as timid and shy as she will be, as many of the newcomers to hlint, alone and homesick. As she gains levels (probably around 6-7ish) she will start developing a more firm belief and she will start to then spread the word of Lucinda more ambitiously and will no longer seem timid or shy, but instead steadfast in her faith.
3. Liatsh will start out wearing the robes of any common traveling cleric, with the white and blue color scheme. Soon after getting on her feet, she will also be looking for a banner to carry with her as she spreads the magics of Lucinda. Liatsh’s weapon of choice in the beginning and probably through the end will be a staff of some sort.

| Re: Cleric of Lucinda I'm seeing no reason why she should use plate armor when robes are favored. Why is that?
I suggest also reading the information on the faith in the handbook, so you know which wards of the church correspond with which domains...the Akh'faern and Fallan Gis in this case.

| Re: Cleric of Lucinda Plates been removed, and yes, i read everything before i posted.
Sorry, i was under the impression there was a difference between "favored" and "manditory" - i figured the higher ac might help at some point.
In anycase, its all been changed.

| Re: Cleric of Lucinda There is a difference between favored and mandatory, that's why I asked why she used plate rather than telling you to change it straight out. The only thing we ask is that the deviation be explained, which is stated in the information on clerics as one of the three points to playing them. "Even though x is favored by y deity, he was raised..." This of course has created a large amount of clerics who explain away the dogma, but if it isn't too out there it's usually okay.
In this case, the deviation from dogma was merely announced, not explained, hence my request for clarification. Regardless, approved.
