Bio: Katsumi was born in the town of Hlint. Her father, Ranulf, was a wandering sorcerer from Spellgard and her mother, a formidable fighter, died shortly after giving birth. Her grieving father felt that he no longer had a reason to stay in Hlint after his wife's death and he went back to wandering all over the world of Layonara in a quest for adventures and knowledge of magic. After more than 5 years of traveling Ranulf heard rumors about a powerful legendary magical artifact in the ruins of an ancient temple in the Dragon Isles, which was capable of significantly increasing the magical powers of its possesser. In his ambition to become powerful and hoping to find a way to bring his dead wife Akira back to life, he decided to take the risk and travel to the unexplored Dragon Isles.
Taking his child with him, however, seemed like a dangerous and extremely reckless idea. Hoping that Katsumi would become a strong warrior like her mother and not wanting to put her life at risk, Ranulf took her to the martial arts school where Katsumi's mother had learned her combat skills. The school's master was shocked when he heard about Akira's death. Although hesitant to take such a responsibility, he gladly accepted the daughter of his most notable disciple into the school.
Ranulf departed when Katsumi was 6 years old and never returned from his journey. At the age of 20, Katsumi has mastered two styles of martial arts. She decided to leave the school and wander in search of adventures and seeking to improve her skills as a fighter.
