| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | Thorax Ruinshield name: Thorax Ruinshield
age: 250
gender: Male
race: Dwarf
class/s :fighter/barbarian
alignment :TN
diety: Vorax
domains:
bio: Thorax as a young dwarf lived in the small town of Hlint. Working hard in the smithy halls he gained a eye for perfection. Often he would slave over the anvil with his hammer bending metals into items of worth or equipment for the average journeyman. And like the equipment he made, he also liked to travel the roads and the countryside. and the caverns underground. nothing comes close to him like a good vein of ore, except a good fight. and Thorax like any typical dwarf, loves to fight. kobolds, orc, ogres. If it smells, kill it his grandpappy used to say.
As his life came into its second century, Thorax took to the road more than to the hot anvil. He travelled the long roads and the even longer seas, finding adventure and rumours of more exotic ores in the lands. But as always, he returns to his town he calls home, with new knowledge of his trips. And many new cuts and dents on his armour. He knew battle, and weilds his emotions well. He can become a wired barbarian, axe swinging everywhich way, or he can become a solid tactician, like a normal dwarven warrior. To Thorax, it depends on his situation. Whatever he chooses, he does both well.
Adding another spike to his armour he drifts of into his past memories. When he was a much younger lad on the road with his father. He was a battlerager, like his father before him. He remembers a time when his father faced off against a troll. Charging towards him in his pointed armour, with a prayer to Vorax, he barreled into the beast. Punching, biting and kickin the creature senseless before bodyslamming it and rubbing the spike deep inside it. Not only did he beat it, but utterly decimated the carcass. but that is the way of these warriors.
A deep sigh comes from his birth as re remembers the old times. But now it is his time. Finishing his armour, he replaces his mallet into his backpac. It will be some time before he hold it again, for now its his turn to bring glory to Vorax. For his father and his father before him, to find the inner warrior within him, that crazed fighter, the primal animal that makes him to become a kuldjargh, a axe weilding form of destruction. With a smile on his face he slips his axe in a loop on his belt and straps his shield on his back. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out five pointed ears from some goblins. "Now, who was it dat wanted 'dese again?"
--- Thorax is a barrel chested dwarf ith a long flowing beard of greyish look and tanned skin. he is friendly and always seeks adventure. When battle comes he always runs into the midst of it, chargin with his dwarven war axe, and when possible he will fight dirty (dirty fighting feat to represent this).
His parents. Thorax dosent remember his mother so well, but his father he remembers well. A gruff dwarf, and many scars to prove his worth. His father is what gave him the desire to become a kuldjargh. but like all axe idiots their time comes. After beating a throng of ogres, and recieving his share of wounds, his father passed on into the halls of vorax. | | |

| Re: Thorax Ruinshield I don't really see the need for the cross class with fighter, please detail why the cross class fits rather than just barbarian.
What has happened to the characters parents?
You have 14 characters listed as in your vault on LORE, you are allowed 6. Before this is approved you need to have 9 of those characters deleted. If you choose to abandon this character you still need to have 8 characters deleted.
Thanks! | | |

| Re: Thorax Ruinshield if there is no RP reason behind it then it will not be approved. Simply wanting a powerful build is not reason enough for approval.
I checked the vault and yes there are only 4 characters so that is not a problem.
Until the bio is updated to barbarian only or to give a reason for the split class besides "I want it" this is denied. | | |

Make sure you keep a good even progression between the two classes.
