Bio/description:

Eanlan was born in a small tribe of sea elves. They lived in a bay of an island, a bit far from human towns. The tribe camp was mainly made of sea plants and some logs, making the houses/tents were they lived. The tribe had around 150 sea elves, not very big. Eanlan's parents where both hunters of the tribe, each day bringing the fish needed. Has all the sea elves he was born learning to swim, but he only started swimming really well and exploring a bit the bay when he got 5 years old.

With the other children he began to explore the sea around the island. It was all so beautifull! Fishes swimming, sea plants with many diferent colors... And it was like this how he passed his until he was 40, each time help more in what he could in the tribe. When he got 40 he starting having some lessons with the shaman of the tribe. He was an wise sea elf. Seems he traveled by many lands spreading Shindaleria's word. He basicly spoke to him about Shindaleria, Mother Ocean. Eanlan got impressed and liked very much the stories the shaman told him. Then each time more children went there to hear them. He also started being trained to hunt with the trident. They first started training some blows in the beach because it was easier to move the trident out of the water.

After some practise the big day was there! His first hunt together with the others. They grabed theirs tridents by the morning and started swimming around the bay. Eanlan started looking for an easy fish. He knew he only should take what he needed from the sea. He saw a trout. He started swimming after her. He tried many times but the trout always evaded the trident. After a while he lost the trout. He looked around and noticed he was a bit far fromt he coast. Well no problem, he decided to explore that part of the sea. There he found bigger fishes. And much more beautifull. Has he started leaving to get back home a shark apeard from the deeps and trying to atack him. Agily he evaded the atack and started swimming faster he could. The shark kept atacking. He asked for the help of Shindaleria. He knew if he was good to the sea the sea would be good to him. He was still a bit far fromt he coast, tired, and teh shark very close. Sudently a dolphin came and hited in the shark's flank. The shark got dazed and ran away. Eanlan thanked to the dolphin and Shindaleria and went back to the bay, he had a story to tell!

When he got to the camp his parents were starting to get worried of him being late. And got even more worried when he told them his story about the shark! But ofcourse they were happy for his son not being eaten by a shark. The next day he spoke to the shaman and he told him about the shark. The shaman told him that sharks were part of Mist's army, trying to make the sea a chaos. Eanlan prayed to Shindaleria and the shaman smiled. From that day on he would always go on the hunts witht he other, having a bit more carefull about the sharks. Sometimes he liked to imagine how was Shindaleria. Maybe a big whale, maybe only a little fishy, or maybe Shindaleria was the whole sea itself. With the time he was growing, he was getting bigger and a bit stronger. His use of the trident improved and eh could now hunt kinda well with it. He could be inside the water without breathing for long time. And his faith for Shindaleria was never so strong. He is now 108 years old.

So strong that infact he decided not to be a hunter, but to dedicate himself fully to Shindaleria. The shaman knew Eanlan very well, since he was a yound sea elf. He knew his faith was strong and acepted to train him has a cleric. For that he and the shaman left for one year of training in the seas. Though but he couldnt handle it! In that night he said good-bye to the tribe and a small party was made in their honor. They left in the morning, swimming to the unknown (at least for Eanlan).

They swam for two days, resting in some islands on the way. Finally they got to what seemed to be and underwater temple with a shrine. The shaman told himt hey would be there for the next year, training Eanlan mentally and in combat. And so they did. The long training session, figthing with the tridents, trying to improved his speed. And then the even longer praying sessions which has has objective linking themselves to the sea and Shindaleria. And thats how the spent the year.

After the full year of training Eanlan was now much better swimmer, trident wielder and he could now cast some spells, granted by Shindaleria. They were now heading back to the tribe. When they got there everyone got surprised and very happy for the two sea elves so long away. A party was made. Fish enought for the whole tribe, dances and then all went to a sea dance. It was the best night of Eanlan's life. Is life was great, he was happy. The days were normal, hunting, helping, socializing, until one day. The waters started to get "dirty". Garbage was coming from the sea directly to their bay. All kinds of stuff, which the shaman identified has "human stuff". The fishes were leaving the bay and the tribe started moving to another island. But something had to be done. The council was reunited to decide what to do. The all agreed that a cleric of Mother Ocean would be the best choice to find out what was hapeninng. They called the shaman. The council wanted him to find out what was going on. He refused. He said he was too old for that, they could sent Eanlan, a faithfull cleric of Mother Ocean. The council agreeed.

He made his pack, just with some simple stuff and his trident. After a night of goodbyes and crying. It was also very hard for him but he was decided to save the sea! By the morning he left with the shamans blessing, swimming to the human lands and some days later being int he waters of Fort Vehl. At this time Eanlan has 110 years, he has light blue skin and light green hair. He is not a weak build for an Sea Elf. His eyes are deep blue, has the deep ocean, domain of Mother Ocean.


1. I have read and understood the information on Shindaleria and am committed to playing Eanlan as a devoted cleric of the Mother Ocean. He will try to complete his mission sucessfully.

2. Eanlan was almost raised by a devoted cleric of Shindaleria and now he is one too. His faith his very strong. For Eanlan the sea is all, respect the sea and you will be respected. Has he respects the sea he follows and worships the mother of the Ocean, Shindaleria. For him, the link between him and Shindaleria is the own sea. He will do all he can do protect is loved ocean.

3. Eanlan has a normal sea elf always carries a trident with him. He uses no armor, just a small cloth to protect his body.

Nice entry -- a lot of effort seemed to go into making this backstory conform to Layonara canon. I need to review one or two details with our resident loremasters before I can approve this, however. This hopefully won't take long.

Okay... the only issue I have with this is that Sea Elves actually live in the water. The references to learning how to swim imply that this tribe lives on the land. If you can rewrite those parts slightly, I think you'll be good to go.

How can they live alway in water? They just spend 8 hours without breathing? And how are the houses/buildings?

From Sea Elf:

The reason sea elves can survive in water so well is due to their radically increased lung capacity. This makes sea elves akin to creatures like dolphins and whales which also seem to have terrestrial cousins.

They do have to surface to breathe, but only rarely. Any structures would be underwater, likely to be fashioned from the natural features of the ocean.

Ok edited. They no longer live in the land, now they live int he water, although its near to the beach, in the bay. Eanlan knows how to swim since he was born

With that being said, I'd like to see point #2 of the Cleric statement expanded (I realize he's strong in faith, but this tells us nothing of how he interprets Shindaleria's dogma), and a physical description of Eanlan.
