Default New Character Submission - Liasanya Whisperwind

Full Name: Liasanya Whisperwind
Age: 114
Class(es): Sorceress
Race: Elf
Subrace: -
Alignment: CG
Deity: Folian S'pae
Domains (if cleric):
Biography and Description:

Liasanya is of average height and weight for an elf. Her build seems slender and graceful and all in all she seems to be somewhat beautiful. If you look into her face you can see her remarkable green eyes which seem to shine like a bright green leaf in summer. Her long hair is black as the night and usually med-cut.
Around her neck you notice a small pendant which looks like a small green leaf in spring.

Liasanya was born in the Great Forest on Belinara. She was the daughter of her mother Rileóna and her father Lorion. She grew up in a small elven village in the woods where her family as well as friends of their family took care of her.
Her father was a ranger in the service of the Longstrider and spent more time in the Great Forest than with Liasanya and his wife Rileóna. Her mother was a ranger as well though after Liasanya's birth she mostly stayed at home with her. Liasanya never really got to know her father. As she still was a small child he did not come back from his travels in the woods. What happened is unclear. Rileóna went into the woods and looked for him though never found his track nor any signs of a battle. It simply felt like he disappeared all of a sudden.
Even after he left all of a sudden Rileóna still loved him so she decided to travel around and trying to find the man who once lived with her and Liasanya.

“Mommy, I need a rest! My feet are hurting.”, Liasanya moaned after they traveled almost all the day through the lands. Rileóna looked at her daughter for a moment before she calmly said: “Not long and we will arrive a small town that is close to the Great Forest, dear.” She frowned a bit, looking south where they were heading. Liasanya tilted her head. “Is everything alright with you Mom?” “No, everything is alright with me dear. I am just a bit exhausted from our journey.”, she smiled slightly and looked down at Liasanya.” We will camp near the village and find a shelter. It will start to rain soon.” Liasanya looked into the skies, pondering whether it would start to rain or not and shrugged slightly as her mother moved on. “Mom! Wait for me!”, said Liasanya and hurried to catch up with Rileóna.

As she arrived her mother already sat under a tree close to the village. Liasanya sat quietly next to her mother, wrapping her arms around her legs pulling them close and looked up into the dusk. Rileóna took out a small harp and starts to perform to play a song Liasanya was able to remember from the earliest days where she still lived with her mother and father in the small elven village deep within the Great Forest even though she were not really able to remember her father.
While Rileóna performed the song on her harp and and hummed softly to the melody Liasanya watched the darker growing sky. Soon the first stars appeared and one of the moons became visible.
“Say Mom, is that Orn or Ausir?” Her mother looked up from her harp and the song slowly faded. She looked up in the skies and then back to her daughter, smiling softly. “That's Ausir, Liasanya.” Liasanya tilted her head. “See dear, while Orn has a white hue Ausir's is rather silverish. I know that might be difficult for you to see dear, but in time you'll know what I am talking about. Sometimes there are small details that matter.” “I see Mom.”, Liasanya nodded a little and turned her gaze east. “How come that the Hunter shines so bright in spring, Ri?” “Well Liasanya, spring is the most significant season for the Prince of Wolves dear. Flowers and trees blossom again and the animals wake up from their long rest during the winter. Life is renewed. That is why it shines at it brightest during these times.” “And what was its name again? Rakki?” Rileóna laughed slightly. “ No dear, the constellation is called Rhazzka the Hunter. You know that this constellation reminds me Lorion?” “Why, mother?”, Liasanya asked her curiously. “Well you know that your father is a ranger. It reminds me of the times where we were out hunting together. Sitting quietly, not moving with his bow in his hand, waiting for the right moment to strike. And as you may see the constellation forms a rough shape of an archer with his bow. I don't know, maybe I'll see him again, one day.” Liasanya nodded to her mother and rested her back against the tree they were siting under.
“Now go find some rest dear, I will watch over you in the meantime.”, Rileóna said to Liasanya. Soon after Lia rolled up and rested from the long journey.

As Liasanya woke up the other morning Rileóna's eyes were closed. She blinked a few times and got up. “Hey Ri ... Ri?”, Liasanya gently poked her in the tummy seeing that she showed no reaction. Slowly Rileóna opened her left eye. “Good morning dear”, she said softly, her voice more like a whisper. Liasanya arched a brow. “You are sure you are alright? You look.. uhm.. pale, Mom.” “I am alright dear. Don't worry about me but the last days were rather eventful and exhausting.”

But it seemed it was something else. Even after a few days she still felt weak and Lia began to worry about her mother so hey decided to stay in the village for now until her mother would feel better and in the right constitution to move on.
Their first days they set up a little camp before renting a small room in the local inn. After weeks Rileóna decided that they should move into the old house at the edge of the village. Rileóna started working for the local healer in the village to earn enough money so they were able to live.
Weeks became months and months became years and slowly Liasanya's mother felt better again. But after starting a new life in the village she decided to stay there for a while and maybe she would find any clues about her husband.

Even as Rileóna started to work at the healer they were not really accepted by the citizens. Liasanya stayed most of her time either around the house or the woods near by and avoided to head into the village. People pointed at her and whispers arose behind her back as she passed. Sometimes she was called a demon because of her elven ears and so people avoided her or simply glared at her if she passed them.

One day Liasanya sat outside of their house and waited for her mother to return from the woods as she saw a group of boys coming closer. She arched a brow as she recognized one of them. There was nothing unusual about that boy. He was as stupid as his friends and called her a demon more than once. Though even if he did he had a thing for her. The last time as Liasanya was around the village for a short time he waited for her and gave her a flower, stating her that he loved her. Lia could not help but laugh at him and he told her that she'll regret her actions.

She waved a little as the group of 5 boys came closer. “So this will his revenge, huh?” She thought by herself. “Really, one day he calls me a demon and the other one he almost started crying as I told him I am not interested?” She shrugged slightly. She jumped off the bench and looked around. It was starting to get night, the skies somewhat red and a fresh breeze was in the air.

“There's the demon, attack it!”, the boy shouted. The other boys nodded to him and picked up stones, laying around them on the ground and started tossing them at the surprised Liasanya. She ducked and made herself as small as possible. Every time she got hit she whimpered slightly from the pain it caused. The boys continued to toss their stones at the helpless Lia and laughed at her.
“Make it stop, make it stop...”, Liasanya whispered all over again. The boys laughed even harder as they saw her mouth opening and closing again and continued their stone throwing.

“Make it stop ... make it stop ... make it stop.” Her voice grew louder and louder until she screamed these words out. The boys gasped for a moment and dropped the stones they were holding in their hands. Liasanya looked around her as the laughter stopped all of a sudden and she did not feel any more stones hitting her. Then she saw the boys gasping at her and she spotted some stones hovering in the air. It seemed like invisible hands were holding them in the air.
“How .. how?”, Liasanya whispered to herself. After a few moments the boys could act again and pointed fingers as her, calling her demon and witch before they ran back to the village, crying.

She lost her consciousness and fell into a dreamless state. As she opened her eyes again she was inside the house again and heard Rileóna humming close by her. She turned her head slowly towards her left and saw her mother sitting at her side.
“Mom?” “Yes dear.”, she looks worried at her daughter. “You don't need to explain me what happened, I already know about it. The whole town knows about it.” Liasanya blinked a few times at her mother. “But you should rest now, some of the stones hit you hard and you had some open wounds I was able to take care of and bandage them.” Liasanya looked down at her arm where she saw a freshly made bandage and it smelled like the herbs Rileóna already used back in the forest if she was hurt while playing around in the forest.

At dawn her mother hurried all over the place, preparing some things which looked like they were preparing for a journey. “Ri, are we moving on?”, Liasanya stretched a little and stroke some strains out of her face. She looked curiously at her mother but she just gave her a concerned looked and sighted slightly. “No dear, I wont come with you. You will have to move on on your own, Lia.” “What?” “You got it right. The whole village seems to think you are a demon now after the incident yesterday..” “I didn't do anything!” “You did dear, you did, even if you don't know about it, but it is a gift.” “Lia tilted her head at her mother. “Lia, you are able to do things other can only dream about. You are something special.” “And why do you tell me to move on? I have no place to go! And I want to travel with you, Ri!” Rileóna sighted. ”I can't Lia, even if I wanted to, but I am pregnant. My place is here now with Joseph.” Lia could not help but stare at her mother. “I know it will be hard for you dear, and believe me. I don't want this to happen as well, but the whole town is about to kill you. In their eyes you are a beautiful demon and not an elf after what happened.” “Let them do what they want! They wont get me!” “Dear, you don't understand me. It will break my heart if I see you die. And you still have a life to live. Walk with Folian's blessings and find your own way. Walk your own paths. Be my strong daughter. You are more than you can think of at the moment but you will find out about it on your own.” Liasanya nodded slowly. “Before you go dear..”, her mother reached around her neck and pulls the pendant out, carefully adjusting it around Lia's neck. ”Might this pendant always remind you who you are and where you came from. Please, never forget who you are dear.” Rileóna hugged her daughter a final time and kissed her on her forehead before she put a cloak around Lia. “Run dear, they will arrive shortly.”
Liasanya returned her hug and and hurried out of the house with tears in her eyes. “I will never forget you, mother..”

After she left the village and her mother Liasanya wandered around the lands aimlessly. She had no place she could call home nor any friends. Days passed without knowing where to go so she continued wandering around the lands, mainly around the Great Forest. In the hurry she forgot to take the things her mother prepared for her at the house. Everything she had was the clothes she wore, the cloak and her pendant plus a hidden dagger in her left boot.

During her travels she always pondered what her mother thought about the gift she had. There was nothing special about her. Sure, she might be attractive in other eyes, like that silly boy who caused all this trouble for her now. At least she knew what Ri taught her about the woods and how to survive within.

After several weeks she eventually arrived at a town with a port. A town where she could get something to eat and maybe she will find some place she could call home? The town itself was rather small but there were many people around, mainly sailors and she was able to locate the local tavern from quite a distance. Looking around she moved on the streets and did not see the man in front of her and she bumped into him.
“I'm sorry, Sir.”, she looked up at him and her eyes wide in surprise. “Hey girl! Don't I know you?”, he grabbed her arm. “Don't even dare to touch me!”, said Lia softly. He chuckled softly. “You refused my love once, but not this time. You will come with me now, Liasanya!” “I won't.. I won't return with you!”, she turned around but he did not let her go, still holding her arm. “No, you come with me now, my little demon!” “I am not going to repeat myself. Let me go!” Liasanya could feel a fire burning inside her and imagined how his hand would get burned by touching her. “Let me go .. let me go .. LET ME GO!” The man began to shriek and let her go. Liasanya was able to see his hand while he was waving it around furiously. It was bright red, like as he hold it into flames.

Without any hesitation she ran towards the docks and she heard him shouting: “DEMON .. WITCH! THERE'S A DEMON IN TOWN. CATCH HER!” People were glancing at her as she ran by. Some people were running after her, probably the man and his friends she thought. Not everyone is as stupid as he and his friends.

It became dusk, followed by a dark night. Liasanya was able to hide somewhere at the docks between boxes and crates. Her arms are wrapped around her legs which she pulled close to her body, shivering in the cold night. Light. Someone was moving around the docks, coming closer to where she was trying to hide. Then a figure stood in front of her. “No matter where you go, where you hide, I am going to find you, demon!” It was the man again.
She sighted slightly and stood up. “Don't come closer.” “What will you do if I do so?”, he asked teasingly and made a step forward .. and another one..
Liasanya looked around, boxes and crates all around her. She thought about what would happen if the boxes and crates would fall between them so she had some time to run away from him; maybe even hiding on the next boat? Then she remembered Rileóna's words. Her gift! She was something special, she could do what other could only dream about.
“Hold it, Marcus! I am a magician!” He simply laughed at her word and came closer, step by step. Liasanya focused on the boxes and crates above her. “Don't come closer, don't come closer, DON'T COME CLOSER!” Her eyes were closed as she focused on the things around her and opened them in surprise as crates and boxes began to fall down.
Her opportunity. She ran towards the coast and hid herself in a rowboat on a ship, shivering from the cold and about what just happened. While she was thinking about her mother she fell asleep. It was a rather exhausting day..

She suddenly woke up as she felt a rocking through the whole boat. She peeked out of the plane which covered the rowboat and saw that they were sailing. The journey took some days before they arrived in Arnax. In Arnax she found a ship which would take her and many others to Dregar, to a port called Hurm.
But the ship never reached Hurm. As the coastline of Dregar was already in sight the boat got attacked by pirates. She did not know why they were doing it now who they were. Certainly, Rileóna told her about some pirates in tales once but she never thought she would experience them on her own.
She ship was set on fire and destroyed. Liasanya was able to grab a plank and hold herself over the water. After like a day or two was washed onto the coast of Dregar where she lost her consciousness.

Her head hurt as she slowly opened her eyes again. Was she alive or dead? She could not say, everything around her was blurred. She slightly turned her head around and looked into the face of a woman. From what she could see in her constitution she was a human woman with a concerned look on her face. From what she could see she had curly black hair and wore a long flowing dress. Her voice sounded caring and nice.

“You caught a fever, miss. The salty water did no good in your wounds at all and it became infected. You were sleeping for a few days now.” Liasanya blinked a few times. “I .. I where am I .. what happened?”, she asked confused looking around. “You are safe now, young miss. You are in my house in Hurm.” “Hurm..” The woman nodded slowly. “Yes indeed. After I found you at the bay I picked you up together with my man and carried you here to take care of you.” “Why .. why are you helping me?” “I have a little son as well, you know? And I can't just do nothing if I am able to help someone.” “Why .. thanks. But I don't even know your name.” The woman smiled slightly. “I am Elaine and live here together with my man Sehulran and my son Barail.” Liasanya nodded slightly to Elaine. “I am .. Liasanya.”
“Rest now dear. I will introduce you to the others once you are feeling better, Liasanya.”
And she closed her eyes again.

Voices near by. She opened her eyes again and she turned her head to the right and saw a closed door. The voices seemed to come from behind the door. The one voice sounded like Elaine's. The other two voices were unknown to her but they sounded like the voice of a man and a young boy. Liasanya looked around from her bed. It was a quite comfortable room with a window to the west. She got up and slowly walked towards the window. As she eventually reached it she was able to see the coastline and the endless seas till the horizon.

Carefully she walked towards the door, still a bit unsteady on her feet. She opened the door and looked into a room which seemed to be like a kitchen. In the middle of the kitchen there was a table with like five chairs and three persons were looking directly at her as she opened the door. She recognized one person, Elaine. Her build seemed agile and slim to her. In her lap was sitting a small boy who might be around five or eight years old. Close to the woman sat an elf. The elven man seemed agile and tall for an elf, even if he was just sitting at the table and not standing in front of her in full length.
She looked down at herself and saw that she was running around in a neat nightgown and blushed slightly. The woman laughed slightly. ”No worries dear. It is alright, just grab a seat.” Lia nodded slightly and sat down on the closest chair, her face still reddened.
The boy reminded her of her own mother. She must have already given birth by now the thought. He watched her with his innocent almost puppy eyes that made her blush even a little more.

They introduced themselves at Elaine, Sehulran and their little boy Barail. They did not ask her many questions, nothing about her past at all. They simply asked Liasanya if she wanted to stay for a while and that she could help with Barail if she wanted. She accepted and spent a lot of time with Barail. For him she was like his big sister and she took care of him like a little brother. It was quite an enjoyable time for Lia, she felt home. She found a new family.

Barail was not like the boys she used to know in the village before she arrived on Dregar. He was all curious about her eyes and her slender, beautiful appearance. He accepted her how she was and did not care she was elven at all. For him she was always his big sister he could always poke about problems.

Elaine gave her a few dresses from the local tailors, hand made and seemed to fit like a second skin. Liasanya had to admit that Elaine had quite a good eye for dresses and they fitted perfectly with her build, eyes and hair. Humans would say she looked like a stunning young lady.

After a few years Barail was send to the Clergy school of Folian in the Forest of Fogs. Sometimes she went with Barail and Sehulran to the temple of Folian which lies hidden within these woods. The temple was amazing for her and it reminded her a bit of the Great Forest where she lived earlier with her mother and father.

As Elaine asked Liasanya if she could take her son to the clergy school she first thought it as boring. She did not know anyone there, but at least she would be able to spend some time within the Forest of Fogs so she agreed to take care of Barail when he is at the clergy school.

Liasanya was laying on her back under a tree while she was watching a fighting lesson of Barail and his mentor Karl Brethman. Barail made some progress with defending himself, still he looked rather helpless. While she was watching them she did not see the young elven man who sat down quietly next to her.
“Hey my beautiful lady”, he smiled slightly. “Hmm?”, Liasanya turned her head around to her left. Next to her sat a quite good looking elf and smiled slightly down at her. She could not help to smile back at him. “Hey there..” He looked up from her and watched Barail and Karl fighting. “So what brings such a lovely lady to this place?” “Oh, I am just watching Barail's fighting lessons. I am his big sister so to speak.”, she grinned slightly at him” “Ah I see, so you are taking care of hi, huh?” “Hmm yeah.” “Don't you think watching is rather boring dear? I mean you cold have some fun as well.” “I don't even know you, elf.” He laughed slightly. “How rude, I am Ranarion. Pleased to meet you on such a beautiful place, my young elven miss.” She could not help herself and started to blush a little. “I am Liasanya, but most simply call me Lia.” “Such a beautiful name fur such a stunning woman.”, he smiled slightly.”Karl will keep your brother busy for quite a while. But I could show you around the woods and maybe even give you some training. You know, you never know when you'll need it.” Lia nodded slightly and jumped on her feet. “Sure, show me around then.” They watched the two fighting for a while before they walked around in the Forest of Fogs.
“So Ranarion, what are you doing around here?”, Lia asked him while they were walking around the woods. He laughed slightly:”You know I could ask you the same? No really. I am a simple ranger in service of Folian.” “I see..” “Yeah, I spend most of my time around the temple so if you need anything just let me know about it.” Lia smiled and nodded towards him.

Ranarion showed her several amazing sights in the woods before they returned back to the clergy school where Barail and Karl were already waiting for them. “Next time I will show you how to handle a rapier and dagger, Lia. Always good to know to defend yourself, trust me”, he winked to Liasanya. She giggled slightly. ”Sure Ranarion, till me meet again.” Ranarion carefully took her hand, lifted it up a bit and gave it a small kiss. Lia could not help but blush again.

Liasanya met Ranarion every time she took Barail to the temple for his lessons. Ranarion was quite patient with Lia and she slowly made progress with the rapier. They spend a lot of time together in the woods, either walking or having lessons with him. During the years they got very close and being close to Ran made her happy.

But one day changed her life. Liasanya and Barail were heading back from the Forest of Fogs to Hurm. Barail was running ahead as usual as they got closer to the town. In front of the gates of the town there was a large crowed gathered and the gates were closed. Rumors were spreading around that the town was hunted by a plague and a cure was not found yet. Until it was the town kept sealed from the rest of the world.

One day a cure was found and the gates opened again though the cure came too late for Elaine and Sehulran, they were already dead. The persons that loved Liasanya like her own daughter were dead, killed by the plague. Liasanya knew that she was already young lady and not their daughter, but what about Barail?
Liasanya did not really ask about his feelings. She was not in such a situation and did not know what to do. She was always there for him but still she did not know what to do know.

Barail carried is parents bodies out of town to the place where all victims of the plague were cremated. They looked around at their house but it seemed that most of their belongings were looted during the quarantine, almost nothing was left. Seeing there was nothing left they headed back into the Forest of Fogs again after a few days. Barail was quiet in the weeks of their journey to the temple and clergy school.

Liasanya was just watching Karl and Barail in their fighting lessons as Ranarion sneaked up behind her and tickled her gently. Lia started giggling.”Hey dear”, she reached up and kissed him. He looked slightly concerned down at her. “Are you alright Lia? I mean it mus be a hard time for you.” He sat down behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. Liasanya leaned back and sighed deeply. “Don't worry about me Ranarion, I'll be fine. I am more worried about Barail though. I don't know what is going on in his head right now and he doesn't talk to me about it.” “Hmm..”, he pulled her closer. ”Well it might be the best if you give him some time.” “Yeah, I guess so as well.”, said Lia and watched them fighting for a few more minutes.

“Dear, ever talked to animals?” Lia turned her head to him and gave him a puzzled look. He laughed slightly as he saw her face. “It is not really talking dear. It is more like understanding them and their feelings. Animals don't know things like we do or see things different. They don't know what you mean if you ask them a question nor you can understand them that way. We simply differ too much from animals.” Liasanya nodded slowly, listening to his words. “So it is more like getting to know about their impressions about something?” “Exactly dear. Through their behavior they let you know if something is wrong or not, if they are hungry or their feelings towards you. For example if you make a calm gesture and keep your thoughts free of any bad things it will understand that you won't to it any harm..” Lia put a finger on his lips and he went quiet. “Going to show me now, will you”, she giggled slightly and kissed him on his cheek. “Oh.. sure dear...”, he took her hand and they moved deep within the woods.

During their travels together she slowly got to know what exactly he meant with the animal language and slowly she was able to see what he was doing to either calm them down or how he got to know about a clear river around. She did not even make progress with understanding the animals in the forest, she even made some progress with her rapier. From time to time Ranarion sneaked around and surprised her a few times with a drawn rapier in his hands just to see if she is fast enough to react even such an attack. Liasanya was not that bad as she might have expected, but she knew there is always another possibility. Something that her mother called a gift. Something that made her special. Even if she trusted Barail and Ranarion she kept it her secret. Barail might knew something about it though she was not sure about it. And even if he knew about it, he was not like the boys she got to know at the village decades ago.

Liasanya was sitting under a tree close to the training grounds where Barail was training with Karl again. She stretched a little and looked up, right into Ranarion's face. “Eeeep! Hey dear.”, she giggled slightly.”Still have a thing for surprising me, huh?” He smiles down at her and kissed her. “Is something wrong with you dear?”, Liasanya tilted her head and Ranarion looked away. “Well, I don't know how to say, but I will have to leave you dear, even if I want to stay with you. I am needed somewhere else and I need to move on.” She nodded slowly as if she expected something like that. “You know Ranarion, my mother always told me to find my own path. And you have to walk your own path as well. I really enjoyed the time we spent together and it seems our paths will now divide again, after we walked on the same path for some years now.” He nodded slowly with her words. “Lia, what ever will happen. I want to let you know that you will always have a place in my heart and I will never forget you for the time being with you. Behind your beauty there's something else as well. You are a good person and you know that.” She nodded slowly towards him.”I thank you Ranarion. I thank you for everything that happened while we were together in these forest. Thank you for showing me how to defend myself, for understanding the animals, for showing me around, for being with you.”, she reached up and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling hi gently down and kissed him for quite a while before she let him go.
“How could I ever forget you? You are like a whisper in the wind for me, Liasanya.”, he smiled softly at her before turning around and heading into the woods.

Lia watched after him, even after she could not see his shape anymore in the dim light which darkens the deep forest. She sighted slightly and turned her attention back to Barail and Karl, a slight smile on her lips and she whispered slowly: “Whisperwind...”
She stretched herself and laid herself under the tree, looking up into the skies.

Somehow Liasanya got to know that Barail was going to leave the temple and clergy school early in the next morning. She thought that he could not simply leave her alone without even saying goodbye. So she grabbed her personal stuff in her small backpack and waited for the next morning.

Barail was saying goodbye to a priestess, Karl and some others and she waited for him at the exit of the grove, her arms crossed in front of her chest and tapping her foot impatiently.
Then he came towards her. “And when were you going to tell me?”,she demanded furiously. “Now..”,he smiled weakly, opening his arms for a goodbye hug.
Lia glared at him a moment, then looked down to his open arms and back into his eyes. A slight smile spread her lips and she reached behind the shrub behind her, pulling out a small backpack and shouldering it quickly.
“Well,“,she said, gesturing to the exit,“better late than never I suppose.”

So they left the Forest of Fogs and headed toward the next port where they took a ship towards Port Hempstead on Mistone.

Liasanya stood at the railing, her hair was flowing around in the air and she whispered softly into the breeze: “A new journey begins...”

//I am here by requesting the ear of animal language for Liasanya. I am aware that her Int will have to be 12 to gain the ear if it gets approved.

Hello, great story. We are reviewing the request for the ear.

So the thought is that you are good to go with the character but you have to RP with some rangers and druids to get the ear. Because it is part of her bio it should not be so hard to do. I dont know what that means in terms of time but if you find someone to teach you and you keep a thread it should not take too long. Good luck and have fun

Approved.

That is quite alright and I know the meaning behind it. Anyways I will keep track of it in a CDT. Thanks for the quick approval.
