After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

| Justice // Is there a defined disease which drives people to make new character after new character, run them to tenth level and then delete them?? //
Full Name: Justice (There is a Justice Bear-Claw already in LORE, mind you there are six characters named Jack, lemme know if this is a problem)
Age: 20
Class(es): Straight Fighter
Race: Half-Giant
Alignment: TN
Deity: Rofirein (From LORE: However, human raised Half Giants have been known to worship any number of gods, reflecting the diversity among their human parents.)
2 Domains N/A
Bio/Description:
Justice.
Physical Description:
Justice stands 7' tall, dark skinned (closer to his human mother's colouring than his Hill-giant father) with a half-giants typical massive musculature. His head is kept shaved. His tendency to remain completely still and silent in company (mostly because he is not quite capable of following the conversation) has seen village children approach and tentatively poke him to determine if he is really a person or a carved basalt statue.
Bio:
Justice knows little of his human mother and nothing of his Giant father. Theirs was a forbidden clandestine union - see below.
He has been primarily raised in the church of Rofirein in Vehl. His mother was imprisoned for the crime of theft (stealing food for herself and her son, she and he of the voracious appetites) when Justice was aged eight. He was subsequently placed as a ward of the church and received his schooling and religious instruction there for the next ten years.
// Heartless Rofireinites! Must have been one of those LE judges that had been flying under the radar up until recently! hehe //
As such, his motivations are pretty much exactly consistent with that of the Church of Rofirein. Strive to be a paragon of virtue and honor. Dedicate your life to justice, honor, and the pursuit of knowledge. Hold the law above all else at any cost, even if this means bringing loved ones or friends to justice. Without the order of law, chaos would reign and the world would descend into dark times where Pyrtechon would thrive. Extend honor to all, even your foes. Aid others whenever and wherever possible, as long as it is in accordance with the law and does not make way for acts of evil.
Justice lacks the intellect for analytical interpretation of the dogma of Rofirein. Instead he is content to be the instrument. Others determine the will of the Church, he carries out that will.
He strives to do this.
A marriage between the law of Rofirein and the chaotic nature of Half-Giants? Can it be done?
Maybe, maybe not, yet ... he strives to be that person.
// This is why he is TN, not LN, as the previous couple of paragraphs might otherwise suggest. //
Language: (From LORE: Half-giants are readily fluent in common and in Giant if raised in both giant and common languages. Half-giants raised by giants tend to speak Common with Giant grammar. At the moment, there is no in-game equivalent for the Giant language.)
Only common. He has had little contact with his birth father, raised as he was in the Church of Rofirein. His modified intelligence ( 14-6=8 ) will be such that he speaks Common reasonably proficiently. EDIT
Additional information on Mum (// Mom for you Americans) and Dad.
Justice's mother Pia was a big woman. Tall and ... big. As an adult she stood a few inches over six foot. Pia came to Vehl as a relatively less big girl from the Barbarian Isles with her parents at age seven. Her father, Justice's grandfather, was a successful blacksmith and ... well, he needed to be for Justice's mother had a vice.
Food.
By the time she was thirteen, Pia weighed upwards of twenty stone. Age eighteen she was nearing thirty stone.
Pia found it difficult to find love in a society that judged aesthetic beauty by a criteria to which she did not exactly meet. As such, she took to wandering the hills outside of Vehl, often day-dreaming of a time when she might meet someone who could look upon her size as an attribute rather than a detraction.
Rug was a lonely hill giant that couldn't find a mate in his own village ... he just wasn't attracted to other hill giants. Rug held the dream of a human mate yet the practicalities of such a union was something of which his dull giant mind had never been able to reach an understanding. How might it work?
What brought these two together in the hills outside Vehl one afternoon as the sun shone and the birds sang with a gay abandon their celebration of a forbidden joining? Was it fate? Was it chance? Regardless, it was beautiful, and though they never saw each other again (Rug and Pia returning to their lonely and loveless lives, they both knew this was not a sustainable relationship) nine months later Justice was born. FURTHER EDIT
Some stories .....
****************************
The ebony skinned giant stood up from the long dining table and loomed over the smaller boy. His speech was slow and deliberate. His fists clenched and unclenched menacingly. "You took my sausage"
The smaller boy backed away fearfully. "Don't hit me Justice! You know what Healer Reus said ... you're not allowed to hit an unarmed opponent!"
Justice's face creased in confusion. "Me no armed either."
"B .. b .. b .. but .. You're huge!"
Justice's face creased in confusion once more before a slow grin dawned across his features. Reaching out he picked up a serrated edged steak knife that he pressed into the other boy's trembling fingers. "Now you armed."
THUD!!!
****************************
The group of young boys, five small, one large, surrounded the weasel-featured man. Wards of the Church of Rofirein all, the boys were dressed in white cassocks, embroidered with the symbol of the Great Gold. One of the boys stood forward, eyes gleaming with the passion and fury of a zealot. "You are an arsonist. Farmer Brown's barn was burned to the ground yesterday and you were witnessed fleeing the scene. You will return with us to presently to the Church to be held until trial can take place."
The weasel-featured man sneered. "A bunch a boys gonna take ol' Sneke in ta custody? I doina think so lads."
With these words the man suddenly drew a wickedly sharp short sword, waving it menacingly in front of him and causing the first signs of doubt and consternation in the eyes of the boys ringing him. All but for one. The dark-skinned leviathan stepped forward. "Put sword down little man. Mes wants to hurt you. Mes wants to hurts you bad. Don't make mes hurts you little man. Please come. You gets Justice in much trouble if mes hurt you bad. Mes ask you one time to puts sword down."
The weasel-faced arsonist by the name of Sneke, shouted, his voice suddenly pitched high. "No way boy. I ain't gonna drop me sword."
Justice's face reflected an internal wrestle of joy versus sadness. He turned to one of the boys besides him. "Makes sure you tells teacher that me gives him warning. Me tries to do right thing. Not Justice fault what happen now."

| Re: Justice Heya Pseudonym,
An interesting character, but given the unusual combination of deity, subrace, and the fact that it's a special subrace, we're going to have to see a significant bit more writing - greater detail into the character, and an explanation of who his father was, even if he doesn't know. (You know the drill.).
One thing I'd particularly like to see is a story that reflects the conflict you allude to in order to justify the TN alignment.
Thanks! | | |

He was my attempt at a 'simple' straight-forward character!! Ok, i'm on it. Thanks for the quick response .... you're a character-approving machine!

| Re: Justice Added a beautiful story about his Mother and Father.
Have just been looking at the differences between LN, TN and CN on LORE. There are a lot of instances in TN where it says 'May or May not do this'. I intend to RP him that he tries to give people an opportunity for him to lean towards his LN indoctrination and if they take up this opportunity, all well and good, however if they do not, his race inherencies will rear their ugly CN head and ... look out! Have written a couple of short story examples.
(PS. Don't know if inherencies is a word!)

| Re: Justice So your idea of TN for this PC is that he has a chaotic nature but a lawful nuture? He tries to follow the laws he grew up under but sometimes his nature gets the better of him. Is that right?

| Re: Justice Approved. I know I dont have to say this to you, but I will anyway. As this is a unique way of looking at TN please be careful that he is not played too chaotic. Good luck and have fun.
