Biography:

Elessar Meneldur is an elf of normal height and weight. Sporting long brown hair, he prefers to have it tied in the back to keep it out of his face while working and fulfilling his duties to Aeridin. His build is that of most elves, but he strives to tone his body and trains vigorously to ensure it stays that way. His face is lean and long with light brown eyes. He wears a near constant welcoming smile.

Elessar has lived in the temple of Aeridin as far back as he can remember. It has been a happy time here knowing that his god is loving and protecting. He values these most of all and is the heart and soul of his being. Elessar knows that even with the suns return that the danger is far from over and must ensure that he protects all that he can with his gods divine light.

From a young age he began to worship The Lifegiver not just because he was there in the temple, but because Aeridin's teachings matched what was already in his heart. He worked hard at his lessons and duties within the temple, still finding time to play and be young; enjoying the life Aeridin blessed him with.

When he was olderhe began to work more in teh temple, helping prepare it for regular masses and for holy days. Also Elessar started working on perfecting body and mind to come one with himself. Everynight he practice defensive moves and counter attacks that woudl stun his opponent as well as meditating and channeling his body's energy. He participated in journeys to towns that were in need of aid;offering their healing and skills to those that were inflicted by deseases and other illnesses. Even though he could only manage haeling peopls wounds with bandages, he would still talk to them and tell tehm of the teachings of Aeridin.

In time he wishes to become a healer of Aeridin, but for now he is on a quest to seek out undead and return them to the Great Cycle. He feels that this pilgrimage is to truly test his determination and dedication to The Lifegiver.

1. I heave read and understand the dogma of Aeridin and intend to play Elessar as a devout follower.

2. Elessar Blieves the puritu of ones body as well as protecting all that he can from danger and harm. He sees undead as an artifical life that has escaped the natural order of the Great Cycle. Elessar will never refuse service to thos on a good casue but will not be apart of a group that is meaninglessly seekig to "kill stuff". Life is beautiful and a cherished gift for all craetures and should not be recklessly destroyed. He truly believes with all his heart that he must protect all natural life.

3. Elessar despises heavy armor and has trained himself in the ways of hand to hand comabt to ward off deadly attacks to him and anyone that need protecting. He will only wear light armor; even leather he feels is too restricting and might prevent him from getting to those in need in time.

Hi there!

As the monk/cleric split is a demanding one, I'd like to see a bit more about Elessar's backround. Who were his parents? Were they members of the clergy? How did he wind up living in North Point (if, indeed, that's the temple you're referring to). How did the Dark Ages affect him, and his connection to the Lifegiver?

How does he reconcile the necessity of killing living things that others might live - or to acquire some artifact, at a net loss to the Great Cycle?

What's his personality like? Lawful Good implies a certain straight-arrowness, but is that tempered by naiveté? Is he self-righteous? Prideful? Humble?

You brush over the decision to become a monk in the service of Aeridin. As monks are primarily warriors, how did he make that choice?

Basically, I'd like to see expansion on all aspects of Elessar's character, to further flesh him out and explain how his remarkable abilities and lifestyle affect him as a person.

Third times the charm hmm?

Elessars parents Were Gildor and Tari Meneldur. Both were devout followers of the Lifegiverat the temple Amarylla in the Giant Run Mountains. Gildor was a monk who focused on healing peoples minds of mental illnesses like depresson, anxiety, phobias. Tari was a cleric of Aerdin how used her helaing pwers to cure those wounded and as well preached sermons of the Lifgeivers teachings. Both were killed by giants while going down to Mixitrix to retrieve supplies for the temple. Elessar was too young to remember his parents but from their friends Elessar knows they were great elves and devoted followers of Aeridin. Elessar feels it his duty to continue his parents calling to the Lifegiver not just out of devoation to his family but what Aeridin's calling was for him.


Elessar finds peace by taking a life by saving anothers by knowing that some fights or encounters are unavoidable and there is true evil out there in the world that will want to see all life be destroyed. He feels that The Lifegiver wants to protect those that are good natures. In the retrival of an artifact or an item, it would depend on the means and the gain of that item and the usefulness of the item to protect life. If the means or the gain from the item will not protect or preserve life then he would not go. He will not be tempted away from his morals or beliefs.

For his personality, he follows the teachings of Aerdin with all his heart and hold these teachings above all others. He is prideful of his upbringing, heritage, and of his parents. He will defend those teaching to all that would mock or shun them. Elessar is very humble when meeting people showing respect to all and treats all that he meets as friends unless they speak ill of his god, heritage or parents. He views on undead are those of sadness that someone would not wnat to join the Great Cycle but remain behind. He feels that it is one of his goals to show them the light and return them to the Grat Cirlce.

Why he chose the path of monk was very simple choice to Elessar. His father was a monk who practice healing those of mental illness of depression, anxeity, phobias. To release those thoughts through meditation and focus. As well Elessar sees that he must attain purity of the mind and body to become the worthy vessel of accepting the divine calling from the Lifegiver.


Forgive me if I am wrong here but my views on monks are not that of warriors but people who focus their mind through meditation training to seek enlightenment. Also to him it his the best choice for Elessar since he can control the physical damage done to a living being. Unlike that of weapons that could cause permenant damge or even kill. Hand to hand is the best non lethal choice to him.

I hope this helps you in approving Elessar. Also thank you for your questions. They have opened up my thinking on Elessar and now I am even more excited to play him. If you have more questions in regard to Elessar I would be happy to answer them.

Please do note that monks may not freely multiclass with other classes. If your character ever leaves the path of monkhood (say, he pick the first 10 levels as monk and then a cleric level), he has to remain away, unless a CDQ is taken to get back again.

Some final notes on character creation:

• Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
• Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
• Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
• Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
