| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | New Character Submission - Finnegan Fletcher Character: Finnegan Fletcher
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Class: Ranger
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Deity: N/A
Biography:
Finnegan was born in the woods outside of Haven and had lived there all his life. Living outside the protection of the village probably made things more difficult on his family, but Finnegan did not notice. His father was experienced woodsmen and taught Finnegan and his brothers to survive in the wilderness too. They seemed at home in the wilderness, and they were. Throughout his teenage years Finn wandered the wilderness, searching and discovering, trying to expand the range of his known world, along with practicing his skills with his bow. For Finn the bow became more then just a necessary tool of survival, he practiced trick shots in an effort to become a master at the bow, his timing and accuracy became excellent.
But now his parents were becoming older, and it was too much of a liability for the family to live out in the woods anymore, his elderly parents moved into Haven, while Finn was left to experience life on his own, he decide to head off, and explore the rest of the world.
Finnegan has always believed in helping out those weaker, and believed in doing what he felt was right, at the time. He never believed in following any code. He also believed his family's style of living worked best, as appose to living under the structure and rule of a city or kingdom. He is not a very devote follower of Folian S'pae and some clerics might argue blasphemes, as he probably swears to his god as often as he prays to it. He also believes that his skill at the bow is partly credited to Folian, but also that his skill is tribute to Folian.
(( Yes he was introduced to Folian by his father but it does not play an important part in Finnegans life, it has been removed ))

| Re: New Character Submission - Finnegan Fletcher Hi there!
This is an excellent start, and we don't need to see much more, but a little description of Finnegan's personality (what makes him Chaotic Good) and perhaps a nod to his devotion to Folian would round him out nicely.
Once that's done, everything looks good.
Thanks!

| Re: New Character Submission - Finnegan Fletcher In order to solve the Word Bug, just copy and paste into something like Notepad, or Notepad++, then copy from there, having "cleaned" your post - that is, removed all of Word's "special" characters that the forum doesn't like.
Two things, then.
If you could edit your additions into the original post, for continuity's sake, that would be greatly appreciated.
And if the deity field is filled, then that deity features prominently in the character's life. Is Finnegan that kind of follower? (Also, did he start into the worship from his father, or did he come into it on his own?)
You're just about there.

| Re: New Character Submission - Finnegan Fletcher Alright, then. Welcome to Layonara! Your character has been approved.

Some final notes on character creation:
- Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
- Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
- Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
- Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
