Bio:
Blake was born in a small village. His father is a gem crafter, his mother a jeweraly maker. Together they were concidered very good at there crafts. Blake would watch his father for hour apon hours cleaning cutting and polishing, getting great works of gems.
One day Blakes uncal Fronk came to town for a visit. Blakes father welcomed his brother inlaw with open arms. Fronk told his father of how the village he was staying at was attacked by bandits. The bandits destoryed his house. Blakes father told him he could stay for as long as he wanted.
At 10. One day Blake was helping his mother out cleaning the house, and stumbled in to Fronk's room. Blake saw stuff the dumbfounded him. His parents never sayed anything about Fronk being a wizard before. Books apon books, potions smoking different colors, bone of different creatures, and a staff laying in the conor of the room.
Blakes mom closed the door, and told Blake to never go in that room again. They felt the life of a wizard would lead Blake to much harm and even his death like it has Fronk.
Blake went to Fronk and asked about what he saw. Fronk explained to Blake that he was a wizard. Blake looked a bit puzzled, but Fronk explained it to Blake what a wizard could do magic. Blake asked if Fronk would teach him how to do magic. Fronk to Blake he would only if his parents would alow it.
Blake went to his parents. They both were shocked when they heard this comming from Blake. The did not want this for him, but knew this was something he really wanted. The both talked it over for days. Knowing the dangers involved. They wished for Blake to stay close to them and grow old, raise a family things that might not happen if Blake was to get killed.
A week later his mother and father called Blake, and Fronk in to the living room. They explained that Blake would have to keep his studys up with gem crafting, his chors, and his studys at the temple of Berly. If any of these fell off what they found exceptiable he would not be able to learn from Fronk.
With in the next few days Blake would do everything that was asked of him. He practied gem cutting with his father, he would help his mother by getting water from the wells, help with the aminals, go to the temple, and at night work late in to the night studying with Fronk. Fronk did not mind the late nights, after all he always clamied he did his best work at night.
For 8 years Blake did this. It was time for Blake to make his own way in the world. He would set out to learn all he could about the world and its magic. It was the only way to do that, was to adventure in to new places. To become his own man. To find the richs of gems mine them for himself, to master cutting and polishing them. To become the best wizard he could be.
//Did not know if these was needed or not but.. I have read and understand the dogma of Beryl and will follow the expectations set forth to the fullest of my abilities.

| Re: New Charter Hi there, Grid Blader.
This is a very interesting story, and a strong basis for a character (a craftperson's background). It does, however, raise some questions that I'd really like to see resolved before this character is approved.
First, why was Blake so shocked that his uncle was a wizard? Did his parents never mention this? For that matter, wizards are hardly uncommon. Layonara is low-magic, but even your everyday peasant is likely to have met a wizard at one point or another, or gone to the local wizard for a spell, or has something enchanted, or so forth.
In a similar vein, why were his parents so shocked? It's not as if wizardry is a lower calling than gemsmithing, or as if Lucinda and Beryl aren't on the best of terms. Wizard does not necessarily entail adventuring, either, so unless this was, in fact, the case, they'd have no reason to be concerned for his safety.
Finally, (and leading from the last), why did he have to go out into the world all of a sudden? What made him venture to Hempstead (or Vehl)? What is his goal? He's been trained as a gemsmith and a wizard - why did he not take up his parents' trade, enchanting the gems as well as cutting them? What, in other words, is Blake's motivation?
A little greater detail along these lines would work wonders with this character, I think.
Thanks!

| Re: New Character I think I covered what you wanted. I feel that living the live of a wizzard leads to danger, and possable death. Something that his parents did not want for him. Plus I am kind of leading in to a controling action of his parents. (Guess I did not do such a good job of showing that ((But it would be for rp and maybe a cd later on)). So I wrote that in. He followed in his fathers trade for now but he will someday adventure down his mother trade maybe. If you would like more please let me know. | | |

Some final notes on character creation:
- Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
- Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
- Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
- Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
Have fun!
