Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. After much thought and a few little pushes by other players telling me to do what would work out best for me, I've come to my decision. Elb'ren, plain and simple, is a weapon master. He isn't a spellsword. Originally upon joining this server I saw the Spellsword class and marvelled, it looked so enticing and fun to play. And I'm sure it is.. just.. as my CDT develops and as I RP Elb'ren he just isn't and doesn't act like a spellsword in any way. He is (or will be) a weaponmaster
This problem is much like Lydyn's Problem with her used-to-be fighter/ranger. Just every time I RP him it really bothers me that I'm set up for spellsword (taking WM currently would be out of the question because of the 4 more wizard levels I have to take and the lack of feats I have that WM requires) and that I really know it isn't right. I talked to Shiff IG, he was the one who proposed this solution to my dilemma with Elb'ren. He gave me wonderful advice. (thanks Shiff! *thumbs up*) Not mentioning the whole extent of it here, summing it all up he told me that I should change my character if it was for the best and if I was truly sure about this. I am, 100%.
The newest chapter, err, subchapter in Elb'ren's CDT will show his desire for something more, something to give him the edge in combat and increase his offensive skills. His path to becoming a weaponmaster has started. Please grant me this full relevel of my character, his level of wizard and feats taken towards spellsword were a HUGE mistake. With this being my first character on this server, I hope you all understand. Thank you.

Figher 6 Wizard 1. Went six levels of fighter, getting the feats that would help him as a spellsword in combat (p attack, cleave, great cleave) and then took wizard. I only have a couple of the required feats for weaponmaster.

For clarification, since you only took one wizard level and it was your last one, would you be content to simply lose that wizard level, freeing you to not be confined to 5 levels of that class, and therefore free to also pursue the PrC you have now decided to aim for? | | | | |

Ahmm.. well.. I was wondering if you could let me fix levels 6 and 7. 6 was where I was able to choose two feats. I chose the wrong feats and this is what has Elb'ren messed up (besides the wizard levels) because it is hindering him from being able to get weaponmaster at any time soon. He would have to take quite a few more levels to gain the required feats. (Around level 11-13) So I ask of you, please just those two levels.
If that is something you can not do.. then taking him to level 5 would be fine. Thanks.

just two things of note.
1. Please dont gain anymore levels or too much XP while we work this out.
2. Have you thought about a full restart? It only took two weeks of so to get where he is now.

Starting over is a slightly good idea.. but I've been trying the crafting system on here (gotten a few levels in various things such as smelting and tailoring) which, although has unfair chances for failure, is still quite fun... and many items and quests and such that I'd have to do over again.. I don't know..

Here is what we can do for you. It is very rare that we allow this kind of thing all. We can (one time only) strip your wizard level and leave you at the beginning of level 6. I will wait for your reply before moving this to the approved forum.

There has been a great deal of discussion on this issue so far...
The final decision of the team has allowed the removal of one wizard level and takes you back to the beginning of level 6. We are sorry that you feel that your feat choices were not perfect, however, you cannot choose new 6th level feats.
This is only being allowed based on being a new character at Layonara (similar to Lydyn), and rebuilds as stated previously are normally only accomplished via significant RP and/or a CDQ and extremely rare.

btw - what would I get with a full restart? would I get to redo my first level attribute points and feats? Skill Points too?
