After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

| New Character Submission - Sasha Westwind Character: Sasha Westwind
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Class: Cleric
Race: Human
Alignment: True Neutral
Deity: Katia
Domains: Animal Water
Biography:
Sasha grew up in Prantz with poor merchant parents who never really understood her. When she was 9 Lord Rael took over the city. During the initial attack, Sasha's grandmother was killed, leaving Sasha without a confidant. She learned to distrust adults and began taking refuge in the city parks. Her parents became shadows of themselves during the occupation, leaving Sasha mostly unsupervised. She met a Cleric named Nina on one of her walks who told her of Katia. In Nina, she found that one person who could replace what she had lost when her grandmother died. She spent nearly every free moment learning the ways of Katia from her new mentor.
When she turned 18 Sasha knew she could stay at home no more. She escaped her past by running to the Forest of Fog where her mentor lived. While there she met Eesa Soulcry and her parents, Teefal and Zerpa. Though of another faith, she quickly became a part of their family.
Through her twenties, Sasha continued to study with Nina and further develop her abilities and faith. During this time she helped Eesa and her parents patrol the Forest of Fog never venturing beyond for Eesa's parents had fear in the time of great darkness.
When the light returned Eesa convinced Sasha that it was time to become real adventurers much like Eesa's parents were before Eesa's birth. Sasha and Eesa left for Mistone without telling Eesa's parents. They arrived in Port Hempstead knowing no one but with hope in their hearts.
Sasha could be described as a quiet, reserved soul who is slow to trust others. She reveres the quiet solitude of the woods and the even handedness of the Mother. Sasha's early experience with Lord Rael's forces taught her that humankind can not be trusted and that Nature's fierce impartiality is the only truth.
--
Cleric required paragraphs:
1. I have read the information on Katia and I will play Sassha as a faithful cleric of Katia to the best of my abilities.
2. Traveling in the woods and helping others who do the same is Sassha's way to praise Katia. In her time within the Forest of Fog, Sasha grew to love the rhythm of the forest, which gave her solace from her distrust of people. She honors Katia by helping others similiarly distrustly of city folk.
3. For a decade now, she has been helping those in the Forest of Fog, and only now has arrived in Mistone with her friend Eesa. As any follower of Katia, Sasha favors wooden weapons suchs as staves and clubs and wears leather armor. Together they hope to honor She Who Shapes All in service to fellow wanderers.

| Re: New Character Submission - Sasha Westwind Was just told about chaotic neutral ... so will change to true neutral.
Also, I made two mistakes ... one, I created the NWN character on layo already, and two, I choose default packages.
Can I delete the NWN character from the server database and start over? (Sorry, didn't see the point in the FAQ until afterwords). | | |

| Re: New Character Submission - Sasha Westwind Simply remake the new character (when you are approved), with a slightly different name. Sasha Westwinds, perhaps. Or Northwind. Or something. Also, when making changes (for example, from Chaotic Neutral to True Neutral), please make the alterations to the original bio, so it's easy for our reviewers (like me, say ) to see.
That all being said, your biography will require a few more things before it can be approved.
First, you'll need Teefal Soulcry's player to PM a GM (me, for instance), authorizing your use of his character in your bio.
Second, how did Sasha become a part of the clergy of Katia? Teefal's submission is lost to us, so we've no idea whether his parents were devout clergy, or whether she came to her faith through a different source. Remember, however, that to a cleric, their god is the most important thing in the world. It is this sheer, unyielding faith that gives the cleric their power, as it allows them to be a vessel for some of the might of their deity. This should be reflected in Sasha's bio.
Also, Sasha would have been 9 in Prantz when it fell to Lord Rael's forces. How did this experience alter her outlook?
Finally, aside from her devotion to Katia, what is she like? Is she friendly? Callous? Introverted? Is she quick, or a slow learner? Is she loyal, or fickle? All of these things will give you a better handle both on Sasha as a character, and on her particular interpretation of her alignment.
Thanks!

| Re: New Character Submission - Sasha Westwind Hi again!
This is looking much better - just one small thing that needs addressing. Dogma point #3 is also meant to address clergy's chosen weapon, dress, and armour. Katia is one of the more stringent clerical outfitters - metal armour and weapons are more or less verboten.
Once this statement has been adjusted accordingly, this character should be good to go.
Thanks!

| Re: New Character Submission - Sasha Westwind With the understanding (although not explicitly stated in your statements) that Sasha may not wear metal armour while still a devout Katian... Your character has been approved.
Server address is west.layonara.com
Password is layoplayer
Some final notes on character creation:
- Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
- Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
- Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
- Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
For future reference, please post to your submission thread when you make an update, rather than messaging the approver. This tends to clutter our inboxes.
