| Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world. | | Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.
There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.
We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.
Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. | New Character Submission - eesa soulcry Character: eesa soulcry
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Class: Fighter
Race: Human
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Deity: Katia
Biography:
Eesa grew up in the Forest of Fog during the time that her parents, teefal and zerpa soulcry, were in hiding to avoid the time of great darkness. She learned to scour the woods with her parents to assure the safety of their small, isolated corner. Each day Eesa saw the fear in her parents’ eyes, especially her mother, who never ventured beyond their campfire.
Eesa was adopted and knows nothing of her birthparents. (They were a couple of ordinary rangers who were rumored to have died in a skirmish outside of Prantz.) She was left in 1392 with a group of followers of Ilsare in Vale when she was just two days old. teefal and zerpa had been hoping for a child, since they had lost a baby years earlier and were glad to hear of a human infant in need.
Eesa has had very little contact with people other than her family and friends, but she longs to be a big adventurer. She loves the quiet solitude of the woods and has shared time with her best friend, Sasha, learning about Katia and her natural ways, but secretly in her heart she wishes one day to be a brave fighter. Her parents taught her some basic sword skills, but Eesa wants much more. She has grown tired of living in fear and wants to see the big city she has heard so much about.
Not long after the light returned, Eesa and Sasha decided it was time to become real adventurers, much like Eesa's parents were before her birth. Eesa and Sasha left for Mistone without telling Eesa's parents. They arrived in Port Hempstead knowing no one but holding many dreams in their hearts.
Although Sasha has been studying to become a cleric, Eesa sees religion as a interesting pastime, not a lifetime calling. Eesa wants to meet her aggressors with force, not faith. She cares deeply for others but feels rules and dogma have little use to her.

| Re: New Character Submission - eesa soulcry Hi there!
While Fighters can be fairly generic, there are two things I'd like to see expanded upon in this submission before it is approved.
First, we either need an IC or OOC statement indicating who her birthparents were... and, of course, who they were not, under the rules of Character submissions. No nobility, royalty, deity, or other powerful parents. While Eesa is welcome to stay in the dark, we cannot.
Second, even a first-level fighter is significantly more competent with a sword, shield, and armour than your average commoner/smith/whatever. She has to have trained at least a little, on her own or with a teacher. A little bit of this training indicated in the bio would work wonders.
Thanks!

Some final notes on character creation:
- Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
- Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
- Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
- Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
Have fun!
