| New Character Submission - Lucian Amakiir Character: Lucian Amakiir
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Class: Druid
Race: Half Elf
Alignment: Neutral Good
Deity: None
Biography:
In the north of Mistone, a elven familiy named Amakiir was. It was a family of traditions and carried the family name with pride. But one day, one of the members, a young man named Laucian, had a child named Lucian
But it was not with an elven woman. It was with a human. Sarah Jonathan was her name. The head of the family was outraged. The father to Laucian called the child a non pure-blooded child. The Grandfather was mad like hell and soon enough he found the perfect excuse to get "rid" of the child. In one of his books he stumbled over an old tradition of the family that had not been used for many generations. Lucian was to be left in the woods of a forest and survive a week alone with no supplies or help except a dagger. If he failed, he was not worthy to carry the family name and so, would be looked upon with dishonour.
So Lucian was left in the woods. He was 13 when it happened. In the time he was there, he came in great contact with the harsh nature. Wierd noices, strange forms and creatures. It scared him to death.. He cried. And then, all of sudden, a wolf came to him. He got even more scared and started to scream. But the wolf was kindly and he couldn't help the felling that he'd seen it before. It looked somehow familiar to him. The wolf followed him for some time and it was almost as if it knew him. Lucian decided to take a break and the wolf just sat down besides him. The forest was dark & Lucian was still afraid, but not for the wolf. And they stared at each other's eyes. And then... Beyond..
Wierd things happend that he couldn't describe. Feelings. The connections from tree to tree, leaf to leaf, animal to animal, sound to sound. This feeling overwhelmed him. He started to notice birds in the trees, singing a most beautiful song. The music was almost divine. For a second it looked like the wolf moved it's head from left to right, in beat with the bird song. He noticed the beautiful moonlight shining upon the before, scary shadows of the trees. And the wierd sounds.. well it could come from little cute mice!
He slowly started to get sleepy and soon enough slept. The last though that went through his head was "To become one with all this... must be wonderful". He woke up next day and felt like he'd dreamed a most funny dream. And right beside him, he found eatable seeds, fruits & a lake. He made the trial of his grandfather. He returned home and he visited it twice a week now. When he came back from the woods however, his mom had left them. Just like that she'd disappeared. Lucian was unsure why and it seemed like Laucian was too. The only thing that remained was a little chest with a note saying:"Give this chest to Lucian. I am sorry my loves." Laucian gave it to Lucian as he was asked, however he did not mention the note. Laucians father was calm with the whole thing.
One year later he still remembered the day where he went to the woods, and it hits him. What happend back then? He'd never given it much though. He went to library and tried to find something about people who'd experienced it too. He didn't find much though because he didn't know what to look for.
Some days later he meets this strange woman in a cape with a cap covering her head and face, telling him that what he was looked for were nature folk, druids. And now! The books he was searching for in the library came to him, as he had something to go after.
He left home as 17, starting a journey to become a Druid. On his journey it felt like he was being watched, protected. If it was the gods or simply something his head was making up... The druids he met on the journey seemed to'd expected him. As if they knew that he'd be coming to them.
He found the druids in the Silkwood Forest as 1
He wandered in the forest two or three days, before they showed up. First he was put in front of a council of some sort, where he was given some different questions. Then some sort of shaman made some ritual with him, testing how much energy from mother nature was attracted to him.
He turned 18 during the process of becoming a druid. The druids were first to teach him in the ways of a druid, the hierarchy that was within the druid society, and the way they call upon their powers. He then traveled with one named O'jiir, in the forest. O'jiir would train Lucian in his new "art". It took another year, and Lucian turned 19. In the forest he saw the very same wolf that was in the forest many years back. Its eyes looked like hes mothers. He missed her. When he returned from the forest he then was to challenge a druid, and he choose O'jiir. With a "mentor" watching the fight, Lucian presented very good. O'jiir was impressed too. Lucian then spent two more years, learning all he could. O'jiir had become more than just a trainer. He had become a friend to Lucian and they took one final trip together before separating.
After the trip with O'jill, he settled as 21 year old in Kheldell, a city on the northen tip of Mistone. It is located in the Whitehorn Forest. Soon he began adventuring. Why? He thinks that life is a beautiful thing, and he wanted to experience great things in his life. He also wanted to meet other druids in new locations. His first travel/trip was to Silkwood forest. He then went to the Black Dog Moors. He then morned the dead elvens that had died there. Eventually he traveled back to Whitehorn Forest, that was home to him, and that meaned alot to him. Eventually he started his quest to help bring balance between nature and men.
A thing that Lucian has thougth about alot about is why his mother left them... And him. And without a word at all? He loved her much. Another mysterious thing is why Lucian has been that good to feel the flow and power of nature without any help from any druid. Before his mom left, she left a little container with a keyhole. It was from her to Lucian. The only thing she left.
Lucian lived among his elven family for about 17 years, so writing, talking and understanding elven should not be too hard for him. (I have read the rule describing the half-elf, elven language thing, and if this is not reason
enough, I'm fine with it
Statement: Hes family exept his mother is not of any importance. The family was noble yes, but far away from having any influenze and importance. Lucians mother on the other hand, is a experienced druid and may have a rank of little importance in the druid hierarchy
I have now read the druid submission info and:
1. I understand and agree to the objectives of being a druid in Layonara.
2. I understand and agree to the rules of achieving these objectives.
3. I understand the internal organizational structure of the druids.

| Re: New Character Submission - Lucian Amakiir Hi there!
While this is a good start to a submission, you'll want to read the Druid Information, and include the Druid Statements at the bottom of your submission.
As for the druidic connection to nature: you mention it once, during the "rite of passage", and then never mention it again. A druid's connection to nature more or less defines the druid, so I'd like to see greater elaboration along those lines.
The rest of the issues are detail-oriented, so I'll summarize them quickly: - Is this "rite of passage" unique to the elves in question, for half-breeds? At 9, an elven child would be an infant - and Moon elves are civilized. Wild elves, perhaps, would have this kind of ritual, but most of the other elven races would balk at imposing that kind of task on a child (except the Dark Elves, of course), unless it was a special ritual for that particular group of elves.
- Why would Lucian object to the war? It's not as though it was a war for territory or greed: on the one side, there was Sinthar Bloodstone, who swore revenge on, in essence, Layonara as a whole, and who intended to lay waste to the world. On the other side, the good forces of Layonara, united against a monstrous foe. What alternative was there?
- Actually, the above question was academic, because, as you can see from the Timeline, the war with Blood was over, four years before Lucian was born. Bloodstone's death was wrought at a terrible price - half a mountain range was vaporized in the blast, and a nuclear winter descended on Layonara until 1420 (it's currently 1427). In this time, the sun was never seen unobscured.
- With V3, a number of names changed. You can look at the current Map of Mistone to get an idea of some of the changes, but I'll sum up a few that you mention, to get them out of the way: Sielwood -> Silkwood; High Forest -> Whitehorn Forest; High Moor -> Black Dog Moors
- As of 1402, the Dragon stopped appearing to people in dreams. (This was because he died, but not everyone knew that right away.) If Lucian chose to adventure, it was under his own power; there are no more Dragoncalled.
- Finally, we need a statement, either IC or OOC, indicating that his mother was (as far as you, the player, know) no one special - no royalty, nobility, or deities in her lineage, in other words.
Once you've updated your submission in accordance with the above information, post again to this thread and your submission will be reviewed again.
Thanks!

| Re: New Character Submission - Lucian Amakiir Hi. I have now read the druid submission info and:

3. I understand the internal organizational structure of the druids.
I will gladly elaborate the lines mentinod : )
To the first question I think the father is kind of exstrem person, who's a little bit crazy. I have wrote it as this ritual was a thing among elves, but that's a mistake. It is not a ritual and it's the fathers idea. (Guess I wanted to make it sound cool (May not be legal but he is a stupid person) Oh. Have a question. If a elf is infant at the age of 9, how can he grow that fast to a adult stage of 20? But I will change his years too: ) Lucian was given some few suplies too.
As for the war thing I though another war was going on. He is with the good guys
Thanks for the mentinond of the new location names
As for the dragon thing I will also edit that
The wolf Lucian saw in the forest were his mother. Lucians mother was a druid too. She had some connections to some higher ranked druids (Not very high but a little) She told them of Lucian and that he may seek the druids later in his life. The reason she left the family was because of Laucians father. He didn't like her at all, and now that she had given life to a "non pure" elf, he threadend her to leave.
Thanks for the reply.
EDIT: I have updated the info
-Tobias

| Re: New Character Submission - Lucian Amakiir While this is much improved, I have two concerns, one small, one not so small.
First, the box his mother gave him. Be aware, please, that this cannot be represented mechanically, nor can it be used to circumvent the "no nobility, royalty, or deity" rule (it can't contain a note indicating that he is the scion of a long-forgotten noble line, say). If it is not intended for any of these purposes, c'est suffit.
Second, and more important, the space between the ages of 17 and 21. During this time, he apparently expanded his innate connection to nature to full-blown Druidhood, but we have no information as to his training or what he experienced. I'd like to see this expanded before approval.
Once you've made your edits, post again to this thread.
Thanks!

| Re: New Character Submission - Lucian Amakiir Hey! And thx for reply.
The box thing is not a symbol of any nobility at all, and it can not be held as a item in game of course.
The reason I haven't written anything about that was because I was afraid to do rituals that didn't exist, or that I would break the "original training program". But I am to know it myself? cool well, I'm gonna post it tomorrow or something.
Best Wishes, Toby | | |

| Re: New Character Submission - Lucian Amakiir As a guideline - there is no formal ceremony of induction - just a process of training that would help him get in touch with his connection to Nature, and the responsibility and privilege that comes therewith.

Some final notes on character creation:
- Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
- Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
- Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
- Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
Have fun!
