| Admorin Oakbound Character: Admorin Oakbound
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Class: Druid
Race: Human
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
Deity: Multiple
Appearance:
Admorin is of fairly average proportions. His demeanor is hesitant and questioning.
History:
The third son of a travelling family, the Cellwares, Admorin's early years were spent in various communities around Lor selling their goods. It was what Admorin was used too but it was a hard life. There was a structure to his extended family, an order if you like but nonetheless differences between their behaviour in those dark days. Food, trade and a welcome were scarce and it was a daily struggle to make ends meet. His parents were more attuned to hunting, gathering and scavenging what they could, others within their group fed off the communities they tried to visit one way or another. In times of scarcity and danger they were often on the move shunned by communities, and yet unity was vital to their survival. His elder brothers Gort and Kubin were closer by age and much older than Admorin, thick as thieves they worked the towns they visited together treating Admorin as unpaid labour, and in the early years Admorin was presented whenever any trouble occurred as the reason for there rather direct selling techniques. This was not a life he remembered fondly. Time spent with his parents was more desireable but still harsh and demanding, attempting to scrape what he could from the land. Nonetheless life was hard and often cruel and Admorin often considered there must be other ways.
It was on a more adventurous journey north across Rael deep in the forest of Fog that a life changing event befell Admorin. The caravan was beset by Giants and made haste to escape conflict. In the chase Admorin barely 14, was separated and lost to the forest. His lonely and terrifying attempts to rejoin the caravan led him to be captured by a troublesome Satyr of the forest.
Initially he thought he would be rescued and it was only a matter of time. Then with that time he thought of his peoples ways, and it slowly dawned on him there would be no rescue, he would be left. So there he remained essentially a slave and bound to a nearby oak tree. This traumatic event changed his life for ever his senses hightened to a measure he had never known before as he reached out to the very forest and its kin seeing them in a new light from his place of captivity. His only friendly companions at this time those creatures of the woods that dared to near the Satyr's home. Bound for over a year by the Oak that was the wayward Satyr's home Admorin was eventually rescued by some passing Druids who took him with them on their journey to Vale.
Used to working with and for the wider family Admorin quickly fell into service with the Druids and their ways. After all they were not so far from his childhood thoughts only much clearer and bound in nature. By the time he had reached their grove on the outskirts of Vale he was content to stay among their people. He was renamed Admorin Oakbound and trained as a hunter and took lodging with a family of hunters, the Stalkers. This family taught him much of their ways , the ways of hunting, and the ways of the Druids. Admorin sucked this knowledge like a sponge drawing upon dormant skills and filling the void of his more troublesome encounter in the forest.
He had scavanged and hunted before, and had the skill, however here was a new philosophy, even in times of hunger and scarcity, there was an understanding, an acknowledgement of nature and the balance of the forest itself. Nothing taken for granted, nothing taken in excess and always that which might cause least harm taken before that which might cause more harm. He almost felt himself tip toe through the eco system, leaving no trace, no mark of his passing, near harmony with that which exists. Here there was a patience and respect for all the creatures present in his surroundings.
Though he often wondered at the places he had visited and the fate of his extended family for such curiousity had been his life the fear of the forest journey seemed too daunting and as time went by Admorin realised it was not so much the forest journey but his lack of desire to rejoin that life that kept him back. He had a place here, and it was not last in line to eat, first in line to take the blame.
Another two years went by in such a fashion during which time Admorin became closer to nature and the Druids that had rescued him. He was chosen for service at the Grove where he was drawen further and more rapidly to the calling he had first recognised deep in the forest at his time of imprisonmnet. This was identified and encouraged by the Druids and he was further enlightened as to their ways and his path to become Druid entered its final stages.
Now 25 Admorin is starting to settle in his way of life confident in his future and understanding of his former life. He nonetheless has not shaken the desire to travel and see things again from his new perspective and understanding - so equiped he set off on a journey of understanding promising to return. None present were quite so sure.
Druid Agreement:
1. I understand and agree to the objectives of being a druid in Layonara.
2. I understand and agree to the rules of achieving these objectives.
3. I understand the internal organizational structure of the druids.

| Re: Admorin Oakbound Hi there, Mix.
While this is good, as with most submissions of adventurers over the age of 12 (that is to say, all of them at the moment), I'd like to see just a little bit pertaining to what Admorin and his family did during the Dark Ages. Given the scarcity of food and goods at the time, I would imagine that even traveling traders would've suffered a bit.
The teachings of the druids are fine and support the class nicely.
The one other thing I'm a bit curious about: did Admorin lose all interest in trying to find the Cellwares (yes, I got the name. Very clever.) again after his rescue? Is he not at all curious about what happened to his family?
Regardless, once you've expanded his background a little further, Admorin should be ready to go.
Thanks!

| Re: Admorin Oakbound Just about ready to go here, I think.
I'd like to see just a bit of clarification on the "Hunter" thing, though. While Druids can be hunters, their philosophy regarding sustainable hunting is quite distinct from that of a hunting-centric Ranger, say. So a bit of expansion on his philosophy as applies to hunting in the forest, and how this interacts with his connection to nature, and you should be ready to go.
Thanks!

| Re: Admorin Oakbound Thanks for your extra work here.
Bear in mind that the Satyr who took Admorin as a slave would be very unusual - most satyrs are overly defensive of their territory, but not cruel. Your character has been approved.

Some final notes on character creation:
- Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
- Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
- Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
- Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
Have fun!
