Biography:

I suppose I grew up like any other elf on Voltrex, getting his lessons in the bow, sword, and nature. Never was anything special with a bow and never held any special draw to nature. I mean don't get me wrong, it's a great thing and pretty place to visit, but I'd rather spend my time in the cities. Easy living doesn't disagree with me! So I spent my time taking extra sword play lessons and skipping the occasional outing to the woods and fields around. Shorter trip, meant more time in the city, and I was becoming pretty good with the sword. Although I did come to find the rapier to my particular taste, a quick and cunning weapon. And very dashing! This was a great stage of my life. Sneaking off in town and getting into what good-natured trouble I could.

Then came the time for the testings. Not surprisingly I had no aptitude for nature magics, and no personal calling or interest in the deities. But I did find I had a knack and like for arcane magics. When my father found out he was thrilled. He figured such a structured and rigid discipline would help me 'grow up' and stay out of trouble. My family was well off, not rich mind you, just some extra spending money. Money which I spent on wine and games of chance as I continued to get older. Well my dad pulled a couple strings and got me sent to the best arcane school in the area. I said my good-byes to mom and dad and started my studies with Master Mage Gryphonwing.

At first I was very content and thrilled with this new life; quickly taking to my studies and drawing jealousy form a few of the other students. Then things started to change again for me, I found the lessons too slow, and my attention wavering. Too much boredom and book work and too little actual magic. So I started sneaking out into the city at night and carousing, gambling, fighting and drinking. My studies suffered, but my heart was content. I was able to remain quiet in class and stopped causing so many distractions: amazing what a hang-over will do. This went on for a good number of years. I do think Master Gryphonwing eventually figured it out. But decided it was in the best interest of the class to look the other way. I was no longer the prodigal wizard, or a disruption to his class. But I was more than able to keep up with the middle of the pack and I had an outlet for my restless nature.

Well this happy arrangement all came apart in a very short couple months. While out on my nightly 'rounds' one fateful night I managed to sweet talk a lovely lass and we enjoyed each others company. When I got around to asking her her name, much to my horror I found she was Tari Gryphonwing! The Master's daughter! I quickly grabbed my things and fled her side, vowing that this was a one night experience. The fates were not kind however. Two months later, Master Gryphonwing 'catches' me coming in from one of my nightly adventures and goes off the deep end. He claims that my blatant disregard for the rules by sneaking out is intolerable and that I can pack my stuff and go. I started to argue with him, told him I'd tell my father and be back in school on the morrow. Then he told me that if I knew what was good for me, I'd leave the city, leave Voltrex before he lost is patience and I spent the rest of my life as a rat. I may be a little slow, but this was not about sneaking out. I egged him on threatening him with my father's intervention. And he finally snapped, yelling at me...."how dare I betray him and get his daughter pregnant!" Well that took the air out of my sails. I offered to do my part and see to her and the baby's welfare. Well let me just say things got ugly from there, and I was literally thrown out of the school, by some variation of a Bigby's Hand (see told you I was awake in class.)

The next week was hectic and in the end my father said he did not have enough clout in this matter and it was best if I leave the city for a couple months while this blew over. I decided that if I could not continue this path, I'd choose another of my own. I thanked my father and said good-bye to my mother. I bought myself a new rapier, some basic wizardry supplies, and got myself passage on a ship set for port Hempstead. If I can not be allowed to make good on my debts, then it was time to outcast myself and start anew, start fresh. Once I arrived in Port Hempstead, I spent a few weeks drinking my woes away and spending the last of my coin. Once forced to sober up, I found my zeal for life back, even if tarnished. And this begins my story here on Mistone, living as an outcast and adventurer. I can not say what the future holds; I just know I have found my courage to face it again.

Some final notes on character creation:
Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
