| Welcome to the Layonara forums!
Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.
After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

Alignment: True Neutral
Biography:
Metz was born and raised in Lor... son to a salior aboard the various Raven Guild merchant ships, and to a high profile member of the local... erm... lets just saw... a local procurement group.
The parents, although loving their son, had little time for him once he came to an age of being self reliant. He spent his time on the streets with the other children, a rather rough lot, often engaging in small "jobs" for the group his mother worked for....
... or, when the destination wasn't so perilous and he was a little older, he accompanied his father on several voyages across the sea.
It came as no surprise to either parent the work the young man began doing... and before long, he was climbing the ranks in his mother's "guild", pick-pocketing selected targets, and working on several small-time burgalry operations both around Lor and the outskirts of town.
A man quick on his feet and skilled with a variety of locks and traps, and able to dart in and out of the shadows.... he was practically uncatchable.
The rest of his Guild... however... was not.
The Guild or group, basically worked in unorganised crime. Stealing small amounts of shipments the various merchants delivered daily to and from Lor, and arranging small stealing scams, from pickpocketing to burgalry and blackmail of Lor officials.
A group came to his little hometown, and shattered his livelihood. They arrested and broke up the various groups in Lor, tarred as " Rogue or Thieve dens"... many arrested, but most fled the city.
His mother, having made a small fortune for herself, retired from the life and moved to Pranzt outskirts, whilst his father continued working on the merchant ships.
Metz grew bored with his new home.
Attempting any form of illegal activity within Pranzt was paramount to stupidy. Trials were dealt with harshly and swiftly.
And so.. after a year.... Metz became bored... increasingly bored. He "borrowed" a small amount of True from his mother, and leapt on a boat for Katherian, knowing he would never be able to call on his mother for aid again.
Another year later, moving steadily from town to town across Alindor, he sailed into the harbour of Port Hempstead.
A sly and devious man, though certainly not an evil one. He will do whatever he can to earn a profit or get himself ahead... but he has little trust or faith in people. He may agree to a contract or job, only to switch or change his mind should something more profitable come along.

Nice story just a few things.
1. Can you expand on this group that came to Lor and broke up his guild?
2. It will be a while before he is skilled with every lock conceivable. But in amongst his peers it could seem that way. So it is a small point.
3. He will not be able to return to his mother for more loans in the future (unless it is part of some kind of encounter under GM control). So it might be best to say that she gave all she will give him and he went on his way or something like that.
4. Please remove Duelist, PrCs are not approved on PC creation. You will need to keep a Character Development Thread, here: http://forums.layonara.com/developme...ls-discussion/

Some final notes on character creation:
- Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
- Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
- Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
- Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
