Biography:

Ceril was born in the depths of the Hammerbound Peaks in a very small community of gray elves and he was indulged in the studies of the Arcane Arts at an early age. His childhood passed on and his skills and knowledge of the Arcane grew, feeding his ego and making him arrogant. His master, Theril Revaniilus were one of the few capabale Wizards among them and he tought young Ceril about magic to the best of his abilities. But with the return of Sinthar Bloodstone he and others of their kind saw that something had to be done to stop this evil and decided to venture out of their safe mountain and find a way to stop Blood. This left Ceril with a somewhat incomplete training and although he studied hard on his own he always thought how much more he could have learned from master Theril (to explain why he isn't able to cast high-level spells at the begin when he'd studied for more than a century).

The gray elves that lived in the mountain didn't have much contact with other races or even other elves, though occasionally there would be a group of gold dwarves passing by and when the Dark Ages begun they started to see less of these as well. The elves position hadn't changed very much except the fact that they never saw the ones that went to war against Blood again. The mountains and warding spells gave them their neccesery protection. Yes, not much had changed for Ceril during the Dark Ages. Until one day.

Ceril walked through the dark and chill tunnel. The only light was what emerged from his body through a simple spell. He would soon be out in the open and be able to inhale the fresh air and enjoy the light from the sun. Soon he could see the the exit and he hastened as to be able to taste the freedom of the open sky as soon as possible. He took the last step out of the dark tunnel and took a deep breath and sighed.

As he sat and enjoyed the sight of the Hammerbound Peaks his keen elven eyes picked up a dark spot on the sky. He peered to make out what it was and after a few seconds regonised it as a flock of birds. Ravens. They were flying back and forth over a point on the ground. That could only mean one thing. Food. And accourding to the amount of birds he would say that there were plenty of it as well.

He hurried down the mountain to see what was going on. After a while he could smell burnt meat and hear the croaxing of the scavengers. As he made a turn around the next cliff he was standing in at the scene where a bloodbath had taken place not long ago. Beheaded bodies, chopped of limbs, burned carcasses and pools of blood surrounded him. With frowned nose he started to try and figure out what had happened. The victims of the slaughter was humans. Men, women and even children. He guessed that they were some of the few settles in the mountain that had planned to move down to the lowlands but the orcs and goblins that he knew rescided in the area must have gotten to them. A wagon caught on fire stood in the middle of the road. When he took a look under it a pair of brown, hazel eyes looked back at him with tears running down it's cheeks. It was a little girl. A sudden sound behind him made Ceril turn around just in time to be able to dodge a sword from making him a head shorter. The tip of the blade made a shallow wound diagonal from his right shoulder down to his hip. Ceril stumbled and fell down on his back. He was unable to focus his mind as to cast a spell. The smirking face of the orc came ever closer. Suddenly the wretched creature growled and it's ugly face twisted in pain. The little girl that had been hiding under the wagon had taken a small dagger and stabbed the orc with all her might in the back of it's thigh. The destraction gave Ceril enough time to remember the word for a spell. He pointed his hand at the enemy and as he spoke the words of the arcane and blue bolts of magical enery shot out from his open palm and hit the orc right in it's chest. It hit the ground never to get up. Ceril turned around and was about to make his way back to the mountain but then stopped and turned around. He looked at the fragile and ugly creature that had just saved his life. Even if it was a human he couldn't just leave it out here. Then he would be no better than the monsters that had just killed her family.

- What is your name little girl, he asked.

The girl just sobbed and looked at him with sad eyes.

- What. Is. Your. Name, he repeated slowly. He was certain that he had got the words right even if he didn't use common very often.

She pointed at her throat and Ceril suddenly realizied what the problem was. The girl was mute.
When he thought about the battle he now remembered that she haden't made a single sound.

- Well, do you understand what I'm saying, he asked.

The girl gave him a shy nod.

- Good. Then come with me if you want to survive, he said. He started to limp back up the mountain and the girl followed him like a loyal pet.

The years passed and Ceril grew more fond of the human for each day. A time after the slaughter of the small caravan the girl had started to communicate through weird gestures. She grew impatient every time her elven master didn't understood her, but eventually Ceril had figured out the most of it and even started to become as fast as she. The other elves frowned upon the fact that one of their kin were activily socializing with a human and though that she surely had become strong enough to take care of herself. Ceril simply ignored them and went on enjoying the company of Randa as he had discovered her name was.

Eight years on the day of the attack Ceril found Randa's trashed body at the road. They had gone here every year on that day since in order for her to mourn her dead relatives. They called it her birthday. Her old life with the humans ended and a new with Ceril began. He had discovered that she was elven years when he met her. So today she turned nineteen. But today she had decided to go ahead of Ceril to have some time alone.

- Stupid. Stupid human, the gray elf cried out.

The local orcs must have noticed her. They had nearly cut her head of with one sweep with a sword at her neck.

- She must have been praying. Though to which god or goddess I don't know. I can only hope that whoever it was will look after her now, he whispered to himself.

That day Ceril left Hammerhead Peak. It was to painful to stay.
He decided to devote himself to the arcane so that he could protect these weak humans as they obviously couldn't do it themselves.

Some final notes on character creation:

• Please note that racial adjustments for players with subraces are skin based and thus get applied after getting in game.
• Only two ability scores can be less than 10 and only one can be less than 8 after racial adjustments
• Brownies, when selecting a head, the head you choose on the halfling selection will correspond to that numbered head for elves (for example, clicking right 6 times on the head selection during character creation will take the 6th head when clicking right on the elf creation)
• Half-giants and ogres, please ask for a GM (type /dm Anyone here?) if you would like to change to a custom skin.
