Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Mipealean Darkwaters - approved for Monk CDQ

Mipealean has spent the last year in self reflection and plans to continue on in his original development focus to become a monk. As many have met Mip, he has been extremely diligent in his travels, RP and log towards developing along the lines of his original character submission.

Based on Mip's sea elf heritage and intent on being a monk, I have used his past knowledge and basic affinity with water, to begin self-teaching him the basics skills to becoming an entry level monk. With each experience with various "forms of water" I have tried to come up with various revelations to continue with his self-taught nature. Water itself, is Mip's key to meditation and self-enlightenment. Each form of water, I have attempted to related to certain skills. I do not want this to be confused with a connection to the elemental paths, only a convenient use for his heritage and explanation for his development.

Mip intends to begin his training as a monk. He has saught many known "masters" of various cultures and credo's to learn from in his development. Throughout level 9, I traded between his blade and just bare hands when he was training (sometimes very much to his detriment but for excellent RP learning). At level 10, he no longer uses a weapon, only his hands from some hand-me down monk gloves. This is a fairly painful experience for him, but his training is grueling ... he will endure.

He keeps a detailed journal of pictures and notes on him at all times. Logging his interaction and studies from senior monks and drawing pictures to communicate where he can. He RPs both his log (constantly) and his tatoos (to those he trusts).

Mip is as true to his original submission as possible. He is currently level 10 and I plan to move next to Monk.

When this was last submitted, it took 2 weeks to reach the decision of requiring a CDQ. Given the server state, high levels, and reduced activity, I wanted to confirm this was still required as it was over a year ago and I'd like to move on with playing Mip.

Is this the first time you are applying for the monk levels that you stated as a gaol in your original submission?

It was over a year or more ago. I had quit playing and moved to another RP server for NWN2. I was interested in returning as Mipealean (Mip) ... as old Silverhand is mostly lost to the swamps as a hermit. I didn't think this required a CDQ at the time as it stayed within the class rules for non-PrC and consistent with the character RP I played.

This is approved for CDQ. Please find a GM to work with.
