Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.
Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

Character Name: Ni'haer Helvivirr
Race: Dark Elf
Class: Sorcerer
Alignment: True Neutral
I am requesting permission to move Ni'haer Helvivirr from True Neutral to Lawful Evil in order to reflect the change in personality.
Ni'haer has been a passive person throughout his upbringing in Eilndar, including his years on the surface. In order to survive and better develop his sorcery, he played coy, often using the compassion others poured unto him in order to secure his safety and development. He bore them no ill will though, except for a number of bothersome individuals that have wrought misfortune to him. Throughout his development, he has observed quietly, often absorbing as much information needed in order to fully blend in. Given his dark heritage, trouble seems to come in from all corners, and slowly he has learned how to pacify such nuisances. From using others' compassion and mercy, his ability to ensnare and beguile others have bore him much success for the time being. He has always yearned to be something more than himself, to be powerful, much like how Milara once ruled a whole continent and had an army of his own, delusions of grandeur if you will.
I see the alignment shift not only as a slight change in his personality, but also to get him at a small point of power worthy of acknowledgment. Throughout his life on the surface, there was a point in time wherein he was spread thin due to the constant turmoil of guards and various individuals haranguing him. He acknowledged the fact that he was weaker than surface-folk at that time, and vowed to rise above his smoldering web. Aside from developing his powers, he has made potential associates and often works behind the scenes in order to achieve a goal unseen during GM Quests, Character Development Quests, and World Leader Development Quests. The evil roiling in him is basically because of his heritage and upbringing as well as the dire need for power, he does whatever he must in order to get what he desires, and if he can’t get what he wants, he shall make sure no one does. Unlike the typical Dark Elf that revels in wanton destruction, his evil is more on how he sheds his passiveness, and if depending on the situation, how he acts more drastically wherein the choices will be far more flexible and his actions will reflect his lack of compassion once fixed on a certain goal. His lust for power has driven him to such a point wherein the ends will always justify the means.
I'm still missing a few Character Development Thread entries and soon I'll be updating the journal with more. I thought I'd post it anyway since I've got nothing to lose, since the worst thing that could happen is be denied. Thank you for your time and consideration, I hope to hear your critique.

Hello Gelooo,
After some discussion the team has decided we'd like to see Ni'haer complete a CDQ series for approval for Evil. The suggested path that Ni'haer complete his first CDQ for the actual approval/denial for Evil and should he be successful complete a follow along CDQ. If approved he would be illegible for small shifts between the two CDQs (these generally come one or two points at a time based on his actions at quests or GM witnessed RP.
The actual details of how this will happen should be worked out between the GM you select and yourself. This CDQ approval is, unfortunately, subject to the CDQ rule of one every two months which is applied by player not characters, so please do make certain your times are taken into account.

Yes, that is what I had in mind in order for the alignment shift, I wanted to run my first series of Character Development Quests in order to shift to the desired alignment as well as achieve certain goals. If ever I do succeed, I'll be killing two birds with one stone. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to up the ante of role play for myself as well as others around me.
It's time to get to work! We have much to do and a change is in order.
