Character Approvals The characters on this board have been approved by a GM and may be played online, in the world.

Welcome to the Layonara forums!

Layonara is so much more than a game. We started off as a tabletop Dungeons and Dragons campaign more than a decade ago. Since then we have developed into a fantasy world with as much compelling and engrossing detail as you will find anywhere.

Our current showcase is a Neverwinter Nights version of Layonara, where our world comes to life in a finely polished persistent world which you can play free of charge. These forums are set up to support and accentuate our player's experiences, but it goes far beyond that.

After years of passionate effort, our world is so well developed, so detailed, so refined that any of the handbooks, maps, historical accounts, legends, descriptions of artifacts, creature reports, character biographies, short stories, novels, movies and original art which populate these forums can surely serve as resources or inspiration for your own fantasy endeavors, whatever they may be. And our world is endlessly evolving, so resources are frequently added and updated.

There are also years of sage advice and commentary on role-playing, gaming and online community development stored in these forums. If camaraderie is what you seek, we offer that too. Our community is as active and supportive as you're likely to find on the internet. In short, these forums are a resource for you to use for whatever purpose or project brought you here.

We're confident that you will find what you are looking for, and likely, substantially more.

Please be our guest and browse around the forums which are available to you. As you do, keep in mind that you are sampling only a portion of what Layonara has to offer. Membership in our community is free, and allows you to establish a Layonara identity to pose your questions and share your thoughts on the forums. Default Buppi Fallenleaf

Full Name: Buppi Fallenleaf Age: 20 Class(es): Cleric Race: Halfling
Subrace: GhostwiseHalfling Alignment: Neutral Good Deity: Lucinda
Domains: Healing – Trickery Short Bio / Description:
Buppi was an orphan living in the back streets of a major city. As a young girl she had been raised in an orphanage funded by the temple of Toran. But as soon as she could she ran away escaping from those stuffy old clerics and their confining rules. She wandered the back streets falling in with the wrong sort of people and eventually getting a name for herself as a pretty good house breaker. One day she attempted to enter the home of a local businessman not knowing her intended victim was in fact a sorcerer. On she entering his home she found herself under attack from the sorcerers familiar; an rather irate little imp. At first she managed to avoid his attack but as she turned to make her escape she felt one of the imps horns tear the skin of her arm and a terrible freezing pain rushed through her as its poison entered her veins. She collapsed to the ground and the last thing she heard before darkness took her where the sound of boots running towards her on the tiled floor. When she awoke she found herself in a soft bed, in a simple but comfortable room. She sat up and noticed the businessman sitting in a chair near the bed watching her calmly. Shocked she tried to get up and run and but finding herself too weak to stand, she fell heavily to the floor. The man she had attempted to rob got up and gently helped her back into bed where she lay fearfully watching him. He introduced himself as a retired sorcerer adventurer and he apologised greatly for killing her. Yes he told her that was right his imp had actually killed her two days ago but he had brought her here to the temple of Lucinda his patron deity, for healing and resurrection. Unfortunately he didn’t have enough money to pay for her treatment and so had sold her into indentured service to the temple for ten years in exchange for her life. She was horrified, to be told she’d died, been resurrected and then sold into slavery for ten whole years was too much, and the first thing that came into her head was the thought of escape. It must have shown on her face though because the sorcerer then told her that a geas had been placed upon her and she would not be able to leave the temple compound until her indentured service was over. She was devastated and started to cry at which the man made a gesture, said some strange words and she and fell into a shallow restless sleep.
As the sorcerer had told her she spent the next ten years within the temple and at first she found it unbearable but eventually she started to settle into the daily routine and the place slowly became her home. She settled in so well in fact that she eventually became a cleric of Lucinda herself although she could never entirely free herself from the rogish element of her personality that had inadvertantly brought her here in the first place.
Then when her ten years where up she decided to leave the temple for a time and look for some adventure and experience of the world. One night when she was asleep she dreamt of a dragon and when she awoke....
